How many pageviews/uniques a month do you usually need sell advertising space on your website? Currently one of my sites has jumped to about ~1000 uniques a day and 15000 page views and I was wondering if thats enough traffic to sell text ads to someone.

Is there a going rate? Thanks.

For sure you can.

Rates depend on the interest from advertizers, and the amount people are willing to pay. This is one of those test the waters and adjust situations.

Start off with something reasonable and increase it when you have filled your spots.

I know it's hard to get a starting point, but somewhere around 5- 10/mo should be ok to start with a max of 5-10 text links.

I hope that helps.

BTW what is the name of the site you wanting to sell advertising on.

Simple question you need to answer - can you offer leads to your advertisers? If you can get customers for other business, or at least send quality traffic then you have something that is sellable.

As a guide I was making $200-500 per month from a site with just a little bit higher stats than yours has now. However I spent time getting the right advertisers for my site - quite a bit of sales involved in that, and I had to deliver results.

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't know you could make 200-500 a month off just small ads. Hopefully I can get PR6 on the next update and see where that leads me.
