Greetings:

I'm interested in selling domains to go along with our services. I found these three offers to be rather interesting:

http://www.stargateinc.com/Pages/stargateSRS.htm
http://registrar.godaddy.com/reseller.asp?isc=&se=%2B&from%5Fapp=
http://www.dotster.com/programs/default.asp?

Do you recommend a particular one? Do you use one not listed here that you find easier to use?

I'm trying to find a good reseller for domains. It'll be a low volume reselling operation as a lot of our clients come to us with domains in hand. :)

Thanks in advance.

If it is low volume I suggest dotster. I use them and they never gave me any problems. The system is easy to setup.

We have just got an enom.com account for domain reselling, they offer good prices and good support (from what i have used anyway)

I would suggest looking into them, they even offer cc processing if you need it not to mention free URL and Email forwarding.

I have looked into domain reselling and have found openSRS (http://www.opensrs.net) to offer excellent services along with top notch support.

I have been using openSRS for over a year, they have a great area to register your domains if you dont want to set their software up but the software is well worth setting up. I have no complaints and will continue to use them.

The software is great, especially for your customers to login and have full control over their domain.

Woohoo! Glad someone finally replied to this. :)

Well, as I said earlier, it is for low volume selling only.

Craig: I never thought about enom.com. What was your experience like when setting up with them?

Scott: I've look at openSRS, but I can't afford to spend $250.00 - $500.00 for an account with them.

David: Why do you suggest dotster over everyone else?

Thanks for the replies!!

Hi,

Sometimes, I'm really wondering that this NET world is really this small. I'm trying to look for service provider that really commited and really in business, also can't get.

With what I need, I search and search... and what I get is company that don't commit/serious.

Trying to get some help from folks in WHT (here), what I get is only what I've filtered out.

All the suggestion of Dotster, ItsYourDomain and etc...

For those who suggest Dotster, didn't you have any problem with their system? I have problem with their control system. Always log me out after I logged in. And the features for my client like NameSpin and etc... always show the following message when I try to use it:

"No Settings for system"

OR (the or is my comment)

"Your session has expired.

Why does my session expire?

Sessions expire for two reasons:

1. For your security, your session expires a maximum of 2 hours after you last site access.
2. If you do not accept the cookies set on login or your computer is not configured to accept cookies, your session will expire almost immediately. We use cookies (small pieces of site information) to assist us in user authentication and in saving configuration information. Cookies are required for this system.

If you see this message immediately after accessing this site, you should check the following:
Check to see that your computer system time is accurate. Cookies are time sensitive and may not work if your computer date is incorrect by a large amount.

Make sure that your browser is configured to accept cookies.
Turn off any third party programs or control panels that automatically reject cookies.

No settings."

What is this? I can only use it when I set my cookie acceptant MANUALLY! Wasn't this suppose to work with DEFAULT OS configuration?

They expect all our client to set the browser cookie seeting to REGISTER (do business with them with more trouble)? :stickout

Second, contact with no reply. They call this business? How can I or anyone who want to provide a good/committed/reliable services to our client rely on them? Site down like normal (as having dinner or ****ting). Provide a not acceptable SO-CALLED good integration, Error 500 in control panel for reseller  ... Try to contact them but no reply...

MrRegistrar.com, another good reseller program from out look (skin that you can see)... What is inside is something that doesn't reply email for ONE WEEK

Is this another services that you're gonna rely on for your services? I bet not...

I don't want some day my client come to me and ask me why their domain management control panel cannot login and I try to ask them but without getting any answer... What should I answer to my client?

IS IT REALLY NO BETTER CHOICE FOR RESELLING DOMAIN?

Not to mention OpenSRS and etc...

What I'm talking and expecting here is in their level of features. Not big plan like OpenSRS and Enom and etc...

If you're not agree, hit me back...

Warm regards,
Leslie

Which reseller company offers no fee transfers of domain names? For instance, I have a customer who register ABC.COM and they sell it to someone else.

Do any of the companies mentioned allow free transfer?

Most registrars offer *free* transfers. This means that you do not pay anything to transfer the domain, but you still have to pay for an additional year to be added to the domain expiry.

I have to disagree here.

We used dotregistrar for about 6 months, and watched their service go completely downhill. I used to get responses from their support within a day. Now I'm lucky to get a response within 2 weeks. These are not minor issues either.

Their prices are the only thing they have going for them. That is, as long as you buy in blocks of 50 domains or more.

Why don't you try http://gkg.net. There is no initial fee and you can resell a domain name for $10, you should check whether they discount when you buy large volume or not (they do, i'm not sure). You can use API written in Perl for domain registration and management. I signed up with them before but so far I haven't use their service because I don't need real-time registration for my clients so I can't tell you their service good or bad, just recommendation.
