Most payment processors (maybe except third party) do not store credit card information for recurring billing purposes and this is a problem I'm facing 'cos I do not want third party and yet, I do not feel safe storing credit card numbers on an Internet-connected machine myself. Web hosting companies in my country (those with their own merchant accounts from local banks) send out invoices every month with a URL to make payment, but I was thinking, if customers would find it a hassle? Would a customer prefer entering his credit card details every month or would he prefer to have his card charged automatically when payment is due? What are your views?

I will put a 2nd vote in for modernbill, so far, we have been running it for about three weeks, it has been awesome. We were using gcdb but there is just not enough development on it. So we paid the extra cash and went with modernbill.
Constant updates and really good techsupport. THey listen to upgrade requests etc.

We use Ensim control panels and their server xchange for all reoccuring billing and support questions. We love it. No need to depend on a third party for anything.
