Could anyone help me out - Im looking for a registrar that has the cheapest price on .VG
So far I have only see one place, and they wanted like $180:eek:

You can register direct with the Registry (Adamsnames) for $50 per year.

Drats, that's still like 5.5 times more expensive than average domain :|

What do you call average?

This is a small registry serving a small island community. You can't compare small island registries with .com - your overheads per domain are a lot higher when you have just a few thousand domains, compared with the many million domains under .com.

When you run a registry for a small community you basically have three choices:

- charge a price that will cover your costs, or

- try to turn yourself into a quasi-GTLD like.tv or .ws (which some small communities may not actually want their national registries to do), or

- give up and go home

50 dollars is fairly average for small island registries like .vg - some small islands charge significantly more.

.tt at the registry the cost is $1000:D

It really depends on the country and their rules, some countries give their citizens free domains and charge for foreigners, it all depends

I regged a .vg at Netsol, was $99 for 5 years I think.
