Hello Guys,

Would I be able to send over 500 emails to my website newsletter subscribers using a nice e-mail newsletter script ?

Would it bog down my server or would react or something like that?

TIA

Errrr... using the mailing list? Regardless, I don't think 500 would even make a dent.

Like the guy said... your RAQ won't even notice it ;)

I'm pretty sure the RAQ puts majordomo at a rather low priority when dealing with giant mailing lists, so I don't think it matters how big it gets, it just keeps plugging along for hours, sending emails.

We have a list thats 3000+ and it works fine, even on a pretty busy RAQ.

I guess the real question is, whats the limit for majordomo's mailing list size?

Dave,

Which mailing list software do you use to send e-mails ?

We have 2 mailing lists, one with about 4000 addresses the other with about 6000, and the raq4i sends them out like a champ! We use a mailing list program called Subscribe Me Pro.

Well, rather than paying US$199 for SubscribeMe Pro license, I would prefer signing up with Net Atlantic for US$15 each month for sending out my newsletter :)

I see your point. In the short-run it is cheaper to pay a monthly fee, but in the long-run (and this is only my opinion) it is always better to be able to buy something outright rather then pay a monthly fee. Of course there are exceptions to that too...

Anyway, I think the people at Subscribe Me have a freebie program out too.. I'm not sure of the limitations on it, but it might be worth a look.
