Hello, I am interested in good datacenters and providers located in the New York/New Jersey Area. I am looking for providers in order to expand our game server business into the east coast. Can somebody please share some good datacenters and providers? We are looking for mostly Windows 2003 servers and a very stable network. Windows 2003 is not a must but those datacenters will be our first priority.
Here are a few I've come across: (I will add to this list when I recieve more names)
1and1.com
15minuteservers.com
EZZI.net
Rusko.us (no information unfortunetly on the website)
DedicatedNow.com (No Windows Hosting Offers)
If you would be soo kind to share more I would greatly appreciate it.

BurstNET is on Scranton PA, they only have a Point of Presence on New York not an Actual Datacenter. However is close.

Any of these that you don't recommend or do recommend?

Voxel.net/Voxrocks.com I colocate there and the network is truly fantastic. Not a single second of down time since I've been there. Anytime I've had to use their support they've been prompt and professional. Check them out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

BurstNET's POP that was in NYC was not redundant & just carried GlobalCrossing bandwidth, so they dropped it a long time ago & only have a POP in Philly - it's cheaper to maintain just one POP that is redundant & more bandwidth providers can be brought it without running extra fiber. Again, very close to NYC though.

Oh, I should also mention that Voxel uses NAC, NLayer and Level3, so their bandwidth for game servers is really top notch. They also do a lot of work for some pretty big names in the gameserver market.

my personal favorite is velcom, they colocate their servers in the savvis NJ dc and somewhere in NY (sorry I don't know where). In NJ they use savvis and in NY they use abovenet. My reason for liking them is $99/m for 100% uptime over I think 8 months now. I'd also reccomend choopa as their bw is very good.

As part of my research, this thread caught my eye. Of all the hosting companies listed here, voxel.net certainly stood out. Not only is their website beautifully designed (remember, in advertising, presentation is EVERYTHING) but, this company lists the names of their leader/team and provides brief bios and contact info for each. If somebody doesn't have something to hide, why don't they all do that?
Of course, being an advertising veteran, I know you can't always judge a book by its cover. But, based on presentation, mid-range competitive rates, and what I'm hearing about OC3, this company looks very, very interesting.
My site will be high-end edgy/artsy and I like the idea of having my site hosted by a company that's got style and class, along with reasonable rates and a good service record. Voxel speaks to me and I may have to speak back. Thank you, Sam, for mentioning them here and bringing them to my attention.
