what's better Control Panel Ensim or Plesk?
I never use on of this control panels (currently using CPanel)
to change over another control panel i think ensim is more similar to cpanel ....
I read about plesk have some problems to run cgi's....
But seems that ensim site administrator has no abbility to add new account... so there is no way to setup reseller accounts....

what's better?

thanks

LOL, I wish that they'll not provide either control panel and just have plain Red Hat Linux 7.1/7.2 installs, so I can install Webmin on it. That'll be less cost and much easier for me and a lot of others too I expect.

From what I understand, they've had some problems with the implementations of some Ensim servers over at RS - check out their message boards. People saying some Perl modules are missing, etc... Again, I'd advise you to check it out.

I have a Plesk box, and really like it. I DO wish there was a happy-medium between the two, as I feel the ensim CP offers a
friendlier user experience (customer), but the Plesk has more options, such as the reseller option you just pointed out.

Good luck.

I don't believe that Plesk has "more" options, I think it has less and if you're going to be using it for hosting I wouldn't suggest it. The only thing that I'm missing from Ensim is what you pointed out, the reseller capabilities, other than that I have been MORE THAN PLEASED with it!

I've got 75 clients on the server and they've only been on it for 4 days (they were migrated from a RaQ4) and I've received tons of compliments on the new control panel and it's speed!

Also, an easy work around for the lack of reseller capabilities would be to have a php or perl programmer whip up some code for you that interfaces with the command line interface (add accounts, add plans, suspend, remove, etc) and you could great your own little "WebHostManager." If you need someone to go in on the cost I'm sure we could find enough people, I'd definitely do it!

The number one turn off from Plesk was the inability to have more than one ftp account per domain. I also wasn't pleased with the interface, nor the amount of steps in the control panel that it takes to do stuff.

Good luck with your choice.. ;)

We currently use Ensim, but will also be offereing Plesk in the very near future. Both a very good CP's but they also have their downfaults. I would suggest trying a demo of each before deciding, that way you get the one you feel more comfortable with.
Unfortunately it seems RackShack has too many eggs in one basket and their Techs are having a hard time keeping up with it. Ensim is not the easiest to use but it is very powerful when it comes to Administration but lacks in the Reselling end (except for ServerXchange), Plesk on the hand is great for Reselling but may fall a little short of Ensim in the Admin end. It's a personal choice for most. I think Rackshacks growing pains with Ensim will end once they become more fimilar with the product and how it works.

BTW I am not a customer of RackShack..

I'm interested in a RackShack server too. I'm just a Reseller for another company but would like to finally upgrade to my own Dedicated Server.

However, I'm only used to CPanel/WHM and I'm not sure how to work either Plesk or Ensim. And since most of my clients don't know much about servers, they need something simple like CPanel.

I'm still undecided as to bother upgrading to a Dedicated as I really don't know what I'd be getting into if I don't know how to work Plesk or Ensim.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. :)

Seems that Rackshack are growing at a rate that is just WAY too fast. How *do* they keep up with all the complaints that they get, I'm sure they get TONS, especially with teh stories I've heard on this board and others.

Yes Ensim has PHPAdmin. I am sure the add DB has been disabled on the demo for obvious reasons..

I would also be interested in a Reseller Script or something of that nature if one were to be available..

Hmmm I know someone who is friends with a bunch of programmers. I will see if I can get him to talk to them..
