Usually, as I have seen on many web hsots, when a potential customer goes to a web hosting website, and click on the order button, they goto a page that asks them if they want to register a new domain name or to use an existing one, they type in the domain they want and say new domain for example. If that domain is available, they go ahead and purchase/register it (I suppose) through this web hosting company. Is that how it's done?

How does this whole thing work? Are they a reseller for enom or wildwestdomains or something? I looked at wildwestdomains.com and enom.com and enom didn't have a very informative website but wwdomains said $99 a year. What does that mean? $99 a year and you can register an unlimited amount of domain names?

TIA.

I can only reply to your post regarding eNom, because this is the only .com registrar that I'm familiar with.

The first thing you would need to do is to sign up with eNom for a free $8.95 account. As the name implies, you'll be able to register main TLD domain names for $8.95 per year.

In order to use this account, you must top up eNom with $100 in advance. So $100 will enable you to register almost 11 domains.

If you're a web host yourself then get selling domain names as soon as it's feasible for you - it's an easy way to boost your income.
