View Full Version : What do you think?
Design123 12-29-2001, 08:58 PM Do you think anyone would pay for 24/7 outsourced sales support? If so, How much do you think? What would be the best way? Pay Per minute, Per Client, Per Question, Flat Fee, or what?
Here is some of my ideas. Tell me what you think.
Live Chat:
1.) $24.95/month, $0.25/Min.
Do you think this is too much?
E-Mail:
2.) $24.95/Month, $0.25 per E-Mail.
Response within 6 hours!
This would be sales questions/Simi-technical questions. But, the operators would not mess with the servers.
So...What do you think? Good Idea, Bad idea, or What?
Thanks for taking the to read/reply!
CobaltConn 12-29-2001, 09:39 PM I think the email pricing is pretty good.
However, Live Support, $.25 seems a little steep. It wouldn't be too hard to take 3-4, maybe even more clients at once, and thats $45-60 an hour. I'm not really sure if there are many hosts that actually would need that much, but it still seems a little steep.
Design123 12-29-2001, 09:48 PM What about $0.10 per min.?
CobaltConn 12-29-2001, 09:54 PM If I were purchasing it, I would probably go for the email support. It would be much more cost effective...
Some bigger hosts should probably comment on this :)
Design123 12-29-2001, 09:59 PM Thanks a lot.
Would you purchase the email service?
CobaltConn 12-29-2001, 10:04 PM No..right now we aren't very big at all. Rather it is "I" :). I can handle all support pretty quick, email response time is usually very low..somtimes around 30sec-1minute.
Plus, the monthly profits would probably not even cover you!! If I was bigger, and hopefully someday I will be :) , I would definetely consider it.
Design123 12-29-2001, 10:09 PM Thanks, I wish you the best with your business!
Relyc 12-30-2001, 01:27 AM Well it seems to me that for 24/7 support, a reply to emails within 6 hours isn't very good. I could do that and save myself the costs of oursourced support. I don't speak for anybody else, but you'd have to be able to reply to emails within 2 hours to interest me in paying for it.
Revelation 12-30-2001, 01:51 AM You're online all the time, and never buisy?
Outsourced tech support is a good idea, but I'd rather get it from friends than from random people who are selling it.
Design123 12-30-2001, 02:09 AM If I did start something like this. With it being 24/7 we would most likely reply within 30 min. I got the 6 hour thing from another company that was online.
Thanks for your reply.
One Web 12-30-2001, 04:06 AM I have taken sales call that I have been on the phone for over an hour and then they didn't even signup because they found some one else. So if I have to pay you 10 cents per min that’s $6. What guarantees me you will make an effort to get me that sale?
Design123 12-30-2001, 12:48 PM Well...We would also try everything we can to make the sale for you, because if we charge you and you get no signups because of us, we're not helping you or us. I guess we would have to find a way to prove to you that we will try everything we can to make a sale for you. We could always give you copies of what was said.
Any ideas?

Saving Support Chats and Emails should be no problem.
BrianF 12-31-2001, 12:48 AM Um... bobcares and hypertechs have already done it.
Bobcares.com guarantees a response within 1 hour.

Design123 01-02-2002, 03:26 AM I don't think Bobcares.com does sales support, I think it it just technical support, for current clients. Does any one know of a company that does outsourced Sales Support(Pre-Sale Questions)?
Chicken 01-02-2002, 03:45 AM If those two don't do it (and I think they would), yes there are place that do pre-sales support. I'm sure there are some limitations to it, but in general, I've seen it, would have to dig up URLs if you really wanted it, but maybe a search in google would produce some.
I can't recall if these were geared for web hosting or not, but even if someone is doing it, you could always do it as well. Not like there's more than one host out there ;) -and if you could do it better... good good...
bobcares 01-08-2002, 10:53 AM Hi!
I just saw this thread... :)
We do support presales questions like
"Do you support xyz feature", or "is this installed " kind of questions. We just do not deal with anything do with money from the endusers. There are two reasons for it -
- We do not want to involve ourselves in money matters which involves the enduser. This keeps the hosting company safe as only they have access to sales records.
- We have only engineers in our team. It would be to expensive to make them do sales work.
Desgin123 this is a wonderful work. You must however remember to maintain very high standards. For this employ the very best... (I mean if you give peanuts... you'll get only monkey's). This real involves very high quality. Also have a wonderful infrastructure. The rest is regular I guess.... :)
I wish you all the best.... :)
Have a great day :)
