View Full Version : Alternative to Aletia

Does anyone have some suggestions for an alternative host that offers similar features as Aletia -- that doesn't run php in safemode? My site is 200 MB, I use less than 5 gig in bandwidth a month but I like to have 10 gigs just in case. I'd like to keep the price under $20 per month, but uptime is important to me, too. Some room for growth would be appreciated as well.

Thanks in advance.

what about tera-byte.com???

Their packages seem like what I'm looking for, thanks. Anyone have any noteworthy horror stories or good experiences they could share?

I have one site with terabyte . Although sometimes I have to run to chatline and ask for live support (my account sometimes get quota exceed although I just use about 30, 40 mb) , but it then solved quickly . Their support is good (although I often visit chatline at 1, 2, 3 a.m to ask for help) .
Sometimes it's down, but with the money you pay , with that bandwidth and space they offer, it's a reasonable .
Tera-byte.com and aletia.com are what I recommend , because I have sites hosted on those comps and I don't see much trouble .

Does Aletia run PHP in safemode? Why do they do that? Can someone tell me the difference between the safemode and normal PHP??

Ahhhh, thanks. I've heard of save mode before, but never found out what it was, that's probably because I've never had the use for it.
