View Full Version : Recent Managed.com Performance

Please note: I do NOT want this to turn into a Managed.com bashing thread. I am posting merely to gather information on the current state of the network.

If you do not have (or have had in the past three months) a server with Managed.com, please do NOT post in this thread.

I do not want opinions of those that are/were not current owners of a server located in the Managed.com datacenter.

Okay, so after that little disclaimer, here is my actual question:

How has Managed.com's network been lately? If possible, I would like to know the reliability, speed, and downtime that Managed.com has had in the last few months. I have done a bit of searching on the forum, but have not found much recent, real-world, experience with them.

I did a quick scan of the "Host Down?" forum, and found (in the first three pages) only this post (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=291004) regarding them.

If you have real-world experience with Managed.com (in the past three months), please post your experience here! I want to know what you liked, disliked, and did not really care about.

If you do not have experience with Managed.com, do not post. I do not want to know your opinion of them if you have not recently had a server of them. There are enough threads like that already.

I have a server at managed.com for 4 months, well I have to say that I am very happy with the server performance …… I did not need to email the support for the last 2 months so cant comment on it, When I took the server I had problems and contacted support and it was resolved in about 35-45 mins.

We did have some network outages last month the total downtime due to that was less than 40 minutes, this month nothing much just a couple of days ago, the ping went high I am from asia I used to get about 270-300ms It went to about 500ms for a couple of hrs but now its back again to 270-300ms I have noticed that these things happened when I get routed via XO.

You can say during the last 4 months the total network outage for me was less than 60-70 mins, I hope the above info helps.

I had a server with managed once until they caused over 24 hours of downtime for a scheduled nic addition which was supposed to only take 15 minutes. The techs made a mistake and then told me that they are going home for the night and will continue working on it in the morning. That in my opinion was very unprofessional and irresponsible. If you caused a problem, then you should do whatever it takes to fix it.

Just be careful who you choose. Good thing I only put a few people on the server.

I had a server with managed.com when i would to change my credit card they make to me 100 problem Managed
Network [Good]
Support [Good]
Reboot [Better]
Billing(Linda) [Too Too Too Too Bad]

well i had a server untill the beginging of this month for for me there network was rock solid i could get 3.3MB a sec no prob from my mates house ! (im stuck witha 512/256 connection :/) support i can't really say because i never needed them reboot was always fine for me considering i live in the UK and billing well my mate payed for the server ;)

I am using 2 servers from managed since April. Ping from SG was always 180-210ms, that's very good for being so far away. A few times ping reach 600-1000ms, as they were ddos, but it only last like an hour or less. June & July nothing happen.

I think there was one network outage when they were changing to XO. They informed us so we are not upset about it, anyway the change was good and stable network till now.

Yes my server HD failed, but they replace it in 2 hours. Lucky I am using that as a anti-spam/virus gateway. So re-setup everything isn't difficult.

Yes my main server also encounter unstable hardware. Again in less than 2 hours they swap the HD to a new box. So I don't have to re-setup the server, and no problem since then.

Reboot in about 30min or less. Support is slow, but I seldom need support.

Yes I have bad experience with Linda too. Managed sales will be hampered with Linda around, anyway not my concern.

Beside the minor problems here and there I have been please so far. As long as your order is not handle by linda your experience with managed should be smooth sailing right from the start.

I'm on the managed.com network via AngelNetworkz.net and it's been all good. But since AngelNetworkz picks up from where Managed.com does bad so it's all good for me.
