Hi all,

I am planning to rent or lease-to-own a RaQ 4r. Can somebody help me clarify these points:
Can I install MySQL in addition to PostgreSQL installed as default on RaQ 4r. Or I have to choose one from them?
Can a site administrator know how many Gb of data transfered that month? (From RaQ 4 manual, I don't know how to do this)
In what case a server administrator will set a bandwidth for a virtual site? (Does this mean the virtual site be throttled?)
Can I set the max. Gb of data a virtual site can transfer?
Thanks a lot in advance.

1- you can have as many different databases on the server as you wish to (Msql, access, oracle, postgresql, mysql, you name it)

2- With a RAQ, ,using /admin, you can know the total GB transfered by the total server in WEB, FTP or MAIL. You can also know seperately for any other site that you wich to inspect. do not rely on these however, they are slow and not very helpfull.

3- I would usually set no bandwidth limit on a site, unless it is a free hosted one and I want to preserver my speed for my high usages sites. In that case, the site is throtteled to any amount of kbps you decide.

4- You cannot set a specific monthly GB traffic, only as kbps

Feel free to drop any other questions you might have ;)

This function is only for SERVER admin not SITE admin, right?
If so, then how a site admin can figure out whether or not he/she have transfered data over limit?

The server /admin has access to ALL the sites and the user's /siteadmin has access to his own transfer.

However, the stats on a RAQ are usually pretty ...... up. (pick the word that suits you best). Usually they are either never refreshed or refreshed daily, which is our case. To solve that problem and track our users, I created a script that grab & compile all the transfer info on all our servers, sort it nicely on a database, whichthen allow me to know how much any site transfered anytime, their average, total and also have enlighting when the site is over using, etc.

Basically, if your stats are working fine... don't upgrade your raq with security patches, because that only create more problems :) (even though that sounds weird)
