That is quite a deal that they offer, and I don't see anything bad about them. So if they provide everything that you need, then I say go for it.

34sp.com was my host for 1 year and it was very good, they used to work with dedicated servers in US and changed datacenter once, but now recently they moved everything to UK where the makers of 34sp live, so I guess it keeps getting even better.

They used to allow telnet, later SSH only, meanwhile shell access only on demand and where it is needed and it was repeatedly mentioned on their forum that their aim is to stop giving shell access at all, but provide other means to allow use of CRON and such things...

I guess they have meanwhile a lot of customers and so probably a lot of work, so I think peer support amongst users is an important factor, the 34sp forum is quite active. When I was there the official support was also good, probably because many issues are dealt with amongst users, so 34sp staff has the time to do the real things. Just be conscient that it's still a small company with limited "human resources" so things might take some time, sometimes.

I loved them for their professional aproach and for the money I think it's one of the best deals you can get. I should renew my own account, but am hesitating because I would like to use this JSP/Servlet stuff and they aren't quite ready with that yet, I was told it's in the pipeline though...

34sp rocks...solid performance, good technical support, support staff very patient when it comes to answering newbies' questions and customer mistakes....definitely worth the money

only thing i didnt like was no smtp server and no subdomain :(

I'd agree with Sturmdogg - I had a year with them and everything was fine. Handled the server move and control panel change well too. Subdomains and SMTP can be brought as extras. I think. Check out their forums too.

Well, I have heard of them as they are located quite near to us. They seem to be ok. I did however get a secuirty cert box upon check out. (maybe something to consider if paying by credit/ debit card)

That aside they seem resonable. Also check out www.whichhosts.com if you are looking for specific UK providers.
