Why can't I get a domain which expires on the 27th this month?
I really want it! Is there something I can do it get it now?

Nope.

But depending on which registrar holds it, you may or may not be able to do something.

There is no ICANN regulation on releasing expired domains, therefor registrars simply make up their own rules for the most part.

If it's an Netsol registered domain, you may be totally out of luck. It may be sold before it ever drops... You might try their "backorder" feature and see if you get get it that way.

If it's not with Netsol, you can contact the domain owner and they may still be able to renew it and transfer it to you.

If it's with OpenSRS, it will drop after 45 days.

When it drops, any of the "automatic" domain grabbers may pick it up before you do, so you can pay them to try to grab the domain for you if you want.

There is no sure fire way to get a domain that has expired until it drops, and then only if no one else is trying to get it too.

gackt.com

I think it's registered under Network SOlution. The expired date is 27th but to date, it's still not release yet >_<. I'll try the method thewitt mention ^_^

It is with NetSol, and I'm not sure I'd backorder it unless you find others who have had success with backordering domains registered through NetSol. Remember, NetSol stands for NET **it Out of Luck, which is sadly what you might be. That 45 day grace period would be hopeful, but I wouldn't count on it.

NetSOL makes life very difficult. Someone showed me a domain that has been expired for nearly a year (check it yourself, bigamazon.com) and I've heard of many others.

Good luck.

I checked bigamazon.com, and wow it's be "expired" for nearly a year! amazing! Are there no ICANN rules regarding expired domains being avaliable to all registars???

Seems very fishy. A monopoly for expired domain names around the corner?

There are currently no ICANN regulations on when an expired domain name drops.

It's a big hole, and more and more people are falling into it all the time...

How is register.com with expired domains? A domain I'd like is registered there.
