What is a good billing system out there?

being able to process credit cards is the main thing but 3rd party gateways wouldnt be bad either.

ModernBill :) There are quite a few 3rd party gateways that MB can work with. And many companies are also designing custom modules for MB (i.e. - Fraud prevention).

As stated Modernbill is a wise choice, we have been using it over the last yeah and a half.

personally i love WHMAP (www.whmautopilot.com) the signup form is simpler in my opinion, and i dont like having to pay more depending on the number of domains

If you choose H-Sphere as your control panel, it comes with built in billing and account creation... fully automated for you.

yes H-Sphere is very user friendly, and billing etc can be managed from within their hosting control panel

i dont care much for h-sphere though

i'll probably stick to modern bill..

Personally, I wouldn't want a billing system dependant on a control panel. For example we offer three choices of control panels, if billing was built into one, it wouldn't be much use to us. This is kind of like the new ticket system built into Plesk, while useful for persons that will only offer Plesk, for us it is more a hassle, as we have a central helpdesk on our website, which users of all control panels can use.
