OK, my current host is a tad on the slow side when I am trying to run my forum software (Ikonboard 3.0) and I'm just looking around to see what else is out there. I want a server that is pretty fast and can handle the load of a forum running on MySQL.

Here's some side specs I would also need:
Space - around 200Megs
Bandwidth - 3 to 4 Gigs/month
Cost - I can afford up to $20/month
MySQL - I need 2 databases
Pointers - 5 domain pointers
Good uptime and support.
The normal stuff.


Anyone have a good host that is speedy and can handle a forum program such as Ikonboard 3.0? I'm also looking at running a penpal/singles script phpBazar (http://www.netone.at/).

I appreciate any help, tips, and leads.

I run a Vbulletin board on F5hosting with no problems. I'd suggest that you ask them if they allow Ikonboard 3.0 to run on their servers or now.

Shoot them an email and I think you'll be surprised at how fast they get back to you or you can post any questions that you might have in their forum.

Have you asked your current host if they can move your account to a less busy server? You might try that first, if you haven't. Good luck.

I believe they only have one main webserver. It is a small webhost and offered a good deal at the time.
