With all the recent news about Verio closing datacenters, I was wondering, should people who have sites going through Verio's network be concerned (not just hosted with Verio, but merely going through it)? Venturesonline I believe is the most recent company affected, though obviously they're capable enough to quickly switch datacenters.
I hate to be caught off guard when my hosting company tells me Verio is closing down their traffic, and leaving its customers in the dust.

you should have no problems, datacenters are not in the same, as the lines are.

Just saw this thread and became a bit concerned.
I am hosted with Verio but have not heard of any potential problems.
Could someone please shed some more light on this subject - like do I need to find another host fast? - although I am actually planning to move.

I would not panic, Verio itself is not shutting down, but the rumor is that they will be closing some of their unprofitable data centers next year. Just like many providers they built too many data centers too fast, and they cannot fill some of them.
Your best bet, is to contact your sales rep at Verio and find out if the data center hit list has been distrbuted yet. If it has you can find out if your data center is on it. If it is, you can take appropriate action: move to another Verio data center, or move to another provider.
I'm sure Verio wants to keep as many customers as possible. So, if the rumor is true, I am sure they will bend over backwards to assist you.

Basically Verio is shutting down datacenters after datacenters to cut cost. From what I've read they're also restructing and laying off people (never good).
I'm not hosted with Verio, but my server seems to go through em'.
