View Full Version : Nice banner WHT :)
SeanCrux 07-26-2004, 11:56 AM I saw this on WHT today, and I actually tried to click on it, heh.
Turns out the server is too busy to send so many banners to WHT ;)
But look how it looks on WHT, maybe it should become an idea to a banner ad on WHT.
MGunnin 07-26-2004, 11:57 AM Is anyone noticing the banners here saying "Server error in "/" application". I have been browsing wht and just keep seeing that error where banners should be, not all the advertisement is messed up, I see some that are working like the EV1 advertisement but some aren't.
the_pm 07-26-2004, 02:53 PM Actually, I see something quite different...
Oh yeah - I haven't actually seen an advertisement on any Website for about eight months now :D

Proxomitron. The best localhost proxy program on earth. It's free - nothing to brag about really. Here's a link - http://www.proxomitron.info/files/index.shtml
It's no longer being developed, but there isn't really much else to develop. I'm sure if the Internet changes radically in the future, someone will pick the project up again.
Enjoy :)
MStar 07-26-2004, 03:21 PM In firefox you just right click the ad and select 'Block images from ads.inetinteractive.com
the_pm 07-26-2004, 03:28 PM Never knew that about FireFox - but I do like the fact that Proxomitron simply blocks all ads - and it's pretty darned good about what it blocks - though I've seen it take out Amazon preview images from time to time. But the one-button bypass simplifies things to the point that it's become one of my favorite browsing tools. Plus, it lets you selectively defeat JavaScripts! So you can keep JS enabled, but still stop all the annoying crap that developers try to push on people. (I hate that f-ing clock)
Kimmikat 07-26-2004, 05:37 PM And I thought "Server error in "/" application" was a ad for a new host! :D

Kimmikat 07-26-2004, 05:54 PM I just tried that proggy out, mainly for the selective JS defeater, especially on pages that have the no-right click script on them and it gets along with the screen reader. I don't have it set to block the banners though.

The Dude 07-27-2004, 06:13 AM I have noticed that today also.........
Either the banner takes forever to show,or it says SERVER ERROR.........
I dunno...............
Ramprage 07-27-2004, 06:27 AM Big red letters on both ads:
"Server Error in '/' Application."
As an advertiser on WHT this month, I'm not very pleased about what has been happening here.
Ramprage 07-27-2004, 09:43 AM Oh and all the directories on WHT are dead as well for advertisers......
