hi i'm looking around, and i was wondering is there a place where i can get as good as a deal as rackshack but with no set up fee? also if i hand my own server can i just use a regular cable/DSL modem to connect to the net, or can i just use my PC as a server, thanks.

I'm pretty sure rackshack is as good deal as you can get for the price.

Last of all, yes, you can run a server from home, though it wouldn't be nearly as redundant and as fast as if it were at a proper datacenter.

search around for people wanting to run their own servers from home. if you're just hosting your test site / non mission critical site and you have a good Sdsl line(upstream is important), then hey, by all means, go for it.


if you're not too linux-saavy, definately go for a raq.
