what are ffa sites? I forgot what letters they are either ffa or faf or something. I remember sending my old site to these which has been a big falier

Also I'm planning on getting myself in included in as many directories as I can to boost my link popularity will this work, I will try paying for inclusion?

FFA - Free For All. Usually just a bunch of spam on these sites. I would stay away from them. When you submit to them, you also submit your e-mail to thousand of spammer's lists. So if you do use them, use an e-mail address that you can block

Its a page that webmasters used to build in their websites to post links for other websites. (not link exchange)

But with time, SPAMMERS abused it and it has become the worse way to promote your website.
FFA sites will add your site to hundreds of FFA pages but no humen see these pages.

Its ok if there are some FFA sites linking to you BUT its not ok if you are linking to them. Yahoo and Google might penalize you for this.

As for paying to get included in the major Directoires...I would say go for it if you can afforde it.
Your site will get indexed fast and you will get some visitors from them and it will increase your link popularity.
Google will not penalize you if you pay for Fast Inclusion in other directories.
