View Full Version : Outsource firm recommendations
IdealBandwidth 07-24-2004, 11:24 PM I need an outsourcing firm, who can handle my clients 100%
I have two boxes coming up on thus/friday and I need them setup and data transferred from other boxes THAT day.
I am willing to pay $50/server a month, and I have more that will need the same, or just a basic server setup.
This is what I offer to my customers, so I want a support company who can handle this:
"- System Administration
- System Securing
- System Updating
- Weekly Server Optimization/Log Analyzation
-24/7 System Monitoring and resolution
- monitoring of services and resolution of issues on crash
- Application/Program installation/configuration
- Total system administration
- Setup of your webservices and applications
- We retain control of root password and manage the server *for* you.
- You will receive a shell account on the server, and access to all neccasary applications. (IE: FTP, PhpMyAdmin, etc)"
I need a GOOD firm, I dont need a half baked thing, so dont recommend me some cheap indian firm.
If my customers arnt treated well, you will hear about it from me and lose my business!
P.S.
Dont recommend me anyone who doesnt include or cant handle the above requirements.
Tickets are low, only time something is really needed is in the initial setup of a customer.
I want the outsource company to also monitor the support desk since all tickets will be from customers which servers are being managed the outsource firm.
buba69 07-24-2004, 11:38 PM you want a company to do all admin/support/setup/maintenance/etc...for a server $50/mo???
That will be very hard to find. You should instead look to outsource parts of your operation, and expect to pay considerably more than $50/server/month.
IdealBandwidth 07-24-2004, 11:45 PM Im willing to pay $300-$500/month...
Like I said, there arnt many tickets but I want the servers taken care of.
The longest support needed would most all the time be when a new customer needs to be setup.
alexmue 07-24-2004, 11:48 PM he charges 3600$/server/month and plans to outsource all manwork for $50/server/month :D
SniperDevil 07-24-2004, 11:48 PM I would venture to say that the service you get for $50/server/month for *all* that will be close to a horrendous.
IdealBandwidth 07-24-2004, 11:49 PM its not for the company in my sig.

I just got done saying I know two others who can provide it and are excellent.
If theres a support company who can handle all that, I need to know it, and I'll pay what is needed but it better be godly.
Steven 07-25-2004, 12:03 AM Just a question, why dont you use the providers?
buba69 07-25-2004, 12:05 AM Hey Ideal
- Why does your dedicated server pricing stay the same the more bandwidth you buy? Normally - in almost every bandwidth situation, the more you buy the better pricing you get.
oh
and are your dedicated servers really on those cobalt Qube boxes like the picture on your website? Aren't those really old???

#2 i told you the site in my sig isnt what i need the support for.
#3 dont worry about the pricing of my products.
I need outsource support, who can recommend a company who can do all that and keeping it within reasonable pricing?
wheimeng 07-25-2004, 01:53 AM I would recommend you to go with rackspace.com or servint.com for TRUE fully managed.

What is wrong with, say, rootsupport.com?

I guess we also should not worry about the very unprofessional contact e-mail address viewable in your domain's whois information, right?
Jumping on-topic, I have heard some good things about rootsupport.com, so you might want to give them a look.

If you don't want a cheap Indian firm, then you better shell out more money. You cannot pay cheap and get the best in the business.

No, you shouldnt worry about it.
1) this isnt my company
2) why is it any of your business? I dont expect any sales for the products listed on site from this forum. I've read enough posts to know what kind of pricing people here want.
Because RootSupport.com CANT handle servers without CONTROL PANELS.
I would be their first customer and they said they would "TRY" to manage it without a control panel, because they had NEVER done it before.
No Thanks......

I dont want a server.
I want an outsource firm to handle my servers, I colocate them and they are resold to my customers.
It helps to read the thread. I want to lower costs and outsource.

Read more of my posts, I asked for recommendations on companies that were good no matter the price as long as they were reasonable.
Considering I've already found a company that posts a lot on this message board and has good reviews, which can meet my requirement and originally posted price, my demands arnt that impossible, now are they?
I havent seen anyone here recommend any outsourcing firms worth $20/month much less $50/server+
The one recommendation I got was for, rootsupport.com, who cant even HANDLE a server without a control panel.
mainarea 07-25-2004, 11:58 AM Have you looked into VisionEX? http://www.visionexcomm.com/index.php?page=server_management
- Matt
IdealBandwidth 07-25-2004, 12:27 PM What can you tell me about them?
IdealBandwidth 07-25-2004, 12:55 PM Nice, I like VisionEX so far.. Looks like theyre going to be my choice.
