Is there a Forum software package that will give users also the option to receive the posts in an e-mail?

So If I would post a message it would also be send as e-mail, like on a mailing list?

Not sure if it completely does what you need - but www.w-agora.com is _said_ to do something similar to that. I know you can subscribe by thread or forum, and when I have used the script it's been good, if a little tricky to customize layout.
