I've a few questions, again :), about reselling:

1) Who should I resell for, a web hosting company or VDI? What are the advatages and disadvantages?

2) When a host lets you resell for them and gives you 50% off - ex. Plan A costs $10, the host gives it to you for $5. You get a client who buys Plan A at your price. Then You have to pay back $5 to the web host right?

Guess that's all for now :)

1) You would probably be better off re-selling for another hosting company than VDI, you are likely to get better and faster support from another host.

2) When you buy a plan from a host for 50% off e.g. they sell them normally for $50 and you buy them for $25 then sell it to your client for $60 you make $35 and you only pay the host the original $25 and no more for that account (baring any extras of course).

VDI's program is more of an affiliate program. You are an agent for VDI and use their name in your advertising. You get a commision on the sales.

Though I'm sure you understand it all, if you get someone who is interested in your $10 PlanA, you will sign up for another account at your host (for $5), who usually sets up the account, etc. There are different ways this is handled, some are automated, allowing you to do this from your control panel, and some are comletely manual.

It is a good question to ask, since if the host is a bit lagging in setting up accounts for you, it will mean more time that *your* client has to wait for their account. I know that many Alabanza hosts have everything automated, and I think this might even (to a degree) extend to their reseller accounts. Not sure who else provides instant account set up, but this is certainly a plus.

I realized I couldn't resell for the host I had due to slow account set-ups on their end.

Yes, you are right. It does extend to the reseller accounts. When you sign up as a reseller with an Alabanza host and add a domain to your main account, it is all automated from there.

Without a doubt, webauthorities is the way to go. You get the ultraspeed servers, which are fantastic, and you also get great support from Mike and his crew.

There was a mixup this weekend that has been resolved to my complete and total satisfaction and I am in the process of moving all my clients over.

You buy IP addresses in bulk and can resell them at whatever price and package size you want.
