Gotta remember that you'll probably be dealing with both SMTP servers, which pull the mail in, and then also POP3/IMAP servers, which let your users get the mail (QPopper, Courier, Cyrus, etc). I personally use, and recommend, Cyrus... It's kind of a black-box POP3/IMAP server, and keeps its own user authentication database. That way you can have email-only users, without creating full-blown system accounts, which allow shell, FTP, etc access. Setting up Postfix to feed mail into it is a breeze (as most everything is with Postfix, IMO :D) --Scott lumbyjj 07-23-2004, 09:35 AM I love postfix!!! That was my staple for a LOOOONNNNGGGG time.. :) arsenicx 07-23-2004, 07:43 PM i got fbsd box and have courier- poastfix- squirrelmail- for webmail - and running courier for imapd and pop3d as well as -ssl. i am working on it says it is getting an impad error : dropped connection |
