Can anybody tell me whether McHost is really bad or am I expecting to much and are there other VPS providers that are better?

I have not used McHost, have you tried searching the forums for them?

I'm with VPSColo.com now and would reccommend them.

Vpscolo, dinix, servint are much better.

I dont know about anyone else but i have read alot of good and bad things about them so its kinda down to you at the end of the day if you want to go with them or not.

When last have you read? I can't recall seeing any good thing being said about MChost for at least a year. Everything I have seen is bad. Very bad.

No doubt as a result of their reputation. People were signing up right and left years ago and WHT was a significant part of their marketing. Marc spent more time here than he did on his own boards. there were times when you could get better response time on these boards than you could with a support ticket (which was a big sign of things to come). I signed up years ago precisely because of the good things said about them right here. They were hotter than Bluewho, httpme and dathron combined are now (less reseller hosting available then)..
