Hello All,
Can anyone recommend a customer management type script, preferably PHP based? I am a new host and have been talking to ModernBill, Ubersmith and some of the others out there.

There just doesn't seem to be anything geared to the host who's just starting out (read cheap!). :D

Any feedback appreciated

TIA

Try looking here :

http://phpmanager.taysoft.com/index.html

Have not used this nor know much about it, but I did take a look at it and I think it might do the trick and be within your price range. I believe they are also discounting the price for WHT members, not sure on this though. Do a search here and you will find the thread where it mentioned it.

Yeah, It's very useful for keepig records of your clients billing and many more.. I purchased it a few days ago, Hehe, I contacted (taysoft.com) locutus in this forum and hoping to get a free installation and I hope they will entertain me as I am very weak in PHP and don't want to mess up the tables.

I was lucky, I contact taysoft.com(locutus) in this Forum and he installed the software for me ... Hehe for free, I am now trying to use it and testing before releasing/providing it to my clients.

I don't like to setup the Tables in PhpMyAdmin as i seldom use it and make a lot of mistakes so I prefer to let someone to do it for me, it saves me a lot of problems try to figure out where I made any error.

PhpManager is really a nice new product. I love it when developers produce a simple, straight forward, inexpensive solution. My two favorite new products are this and Perl Desk.

Kudos to taysoft.

Hi !
I guess you are looking for a helpdesk software/ ticketing system.
Try ticketsmith. This is really cool and free.

But is PHPManager compatible with Plesk?

I read somewhere on the plesk forums that it isn't.

Can anyone confirm this??

on the PHP manager site it says "Easily customisable to your server software"

I have emailed taysoft, I eagerly await their reply.

There was an advertising forum thread not too long ago (in Related Offers and Requests), where I requested that they think about integration with Plesk. Seemed open to it, so there might be a version for Plesk'ers soon.

Theres also an open source billing/ticket system.

gcdb.sourceforge.net

Visually can use some work but has lots of function. Might be a good idea for the host just starting out without the cash to invest in something a little better.
