Alright heres the deal I just registerd a new dedicated server and I have everything running fine one it as we speak.

Theres just one thing I want to ask, that is since theres no domain names linking to my dedicated right now and I am trying to buy one off of godaddy.com but it wants me to put in BLANK(dns1. ns1. etc.) Domain .com

Since my dedicated is only a ip right now is there a way for me to link it to the ip instead of a domain name? I have a already registed domain name that I have to link anyways if that would help.

Some Registrars like RegisterFly provide advanced DNS. You can always use their default DNS and them just create an A record to the ip address of your server via their Advanced DNS panel.

If you use go daddy, you have to use the option of using their nameservers.

I want to beable to use my own nameservers thats the thing.
Cause if I give out godaddies it will look bad. =|

As you can see im lost.

EDIT

I think I did it for a domain name I already had from opensrs.net

I just created 2 nameservers then linked to them.

Does anyone know a cheap resseller that uses opensrs.net so that I can buy one from them so it would be just as easy for me. =)

Or would you recommend godaddy still? Do they have the feature of being able to add your own name server then link to it?

you can lways register your nameserver with any registrar and link it to your domain with the IP provided by your dedicated server provider.

some registrars also allow registering 2 nameservers pointed to the same IP
