I can't believe they paid this much for a two word plural. I mean, one could think of "card", "cards", "credit", "creditcard", long before stumbling upon "creditcardS". The selling party deserves a hand for a sales pitch well executed.

well, to me it all depends on the context...

Credit Card is such a frequently used term that a 5-yr kid can probably show you how to use one..

As for singular/plural... I think that get abit less type in than CreditCard.com, NO??
But it is a site for:
CreditCards.com allows consumers to compare interest rates and other terms on hundreds of credit cards.

So ,rather, CreditCardS.com is used
