What happened to 99servers.com?
It looks to me that the webmaster turned a great tool into a simple forward to hosting / dedicated services

Is not the webmaster of 99servers.com offering Rackshack deals where you pay no setup fee's... I read his offers on here a while ago, I wonder how that is going actually. Is must be going well if he's decided to direct all the traffic from 99servers.com to the new site... either that or he needs to get 'some' traffic to the new site, lol.
Bit off topic here... the site that 99servers.com redirects to, saburovo.com, I like that, it's simple, very basic to use. It's a site that I would actually buy web hosting from because it's *that* good (I'm serious btw). The idea of being a 'middle man' between the client and Rackshack is a nice idea. I wonder if the owner can give us an update on how he's doing?

You would at least thing the webmaster had some sense in using the word unlimited.

It's probably cuz rackshack say's they offer unlimited transfer for their virtual hosting accounts.

Denis is currently in Russia on holiday (in sub zero conditions...whilst we're spending our days on the beach soaking up the 40degC (100+ in F) sunshine).
http://www.saburovo.com/freehosting.html
His 99servers.com site was affected by the same faulty drive as well. I guess the redirection was a quick, remote fix.
He'll be back.

Sounds great. It really is one of 'hate-the-gui-but-love-the-content' sites

Thanks all.
99servers.com will be back, I already found a person who will support it for free.
However I don't think this will happen before the mid-January 2002. Right now the site will redirect you to Saburovo.com.

- 2 Cobalt RaQs
- 15 Plesks
- 11 Ensims
3 of them are used for virtual (mostly free) hosting.
17 of them are currently sold to dedicated customers.
8 of them are available.
The highest demand is for servers with higher hard disks (2x40 GB). Almost nobody wants Cobalt RaQs (I can't sell one).
If not today, when RS had power failure in their datacenter, everything would be just fine.
One server, which hosts dragonbfp.com, transfers about 600 GB per month. The rest is about 10 GB per month per server on average.
Support is the main issue, I can only sleep 2-3 hours a day to serve the customers better. This should change soon with a new tech guy onboard in January 2002.
So far one customer left when RS did not provide additional IP addresses in time (requested on Dec 15, provided on Dec 23 -- this is not typical, in all other cases they allocated addresses in a few hours). The server was immediately taken by another customer.
Is there anything else you would like to know? I am here to share the experience.

dabystru, looks to me you're doing quite well. It's a good idea, using RS, there's no one else who uses the same idea. Well done and good luck for the future!
