I was just doing some research, and found out about a website called, IrelandOffline.

Now, if what they say is true, then anyone in Ireland must be paying alot of money to connect to the internet. How does this affect businesses, espcially hosts, that hold office in Ireland? I mean, do you check email once a day because of the costs?

Just wondering, the website is www.irelandoffline.com

Irelands hosting market is waiting to be exploited and i mean waiting there paying around $130usd per year for a basic 500mb bandwidth per month account.

I wouldn't bother, we are going Euro in 7 days :D

As for the internet business in Ireland, it's in it's early stages, we don't have broadband internet yet, supposed to be coming out Q4 2002, if you believe that :)

There are some Irish Web hosts, but from what I can tell they do the same as me, rent/buy US servers, put them in US NOC's and sell mainly to US/UK clients.
They are Irish only because the person who owns the company is Irish, and maybe some companies are registered in Ireland.

But thats an interesting link, I am going now to sign up with them.

yeah, I just found out about it. Im in the US, but have relatives in Ireland, so I became interested. Ive never seen a NOC in Ireland, so I was wondering if they even existed.
