How much bandwidth a month would be used if you constantly used 100kbps 24/7 ? Whats the formula to figure this out?

Whats the formula to figure this out? allera 12-23-2001, 10:30 PM 8bits/sec / 8 = 1Byte/sec 100kbits/sec / 8 = 12.5kBytes/sec 60sec = 1minute 60 minutes = 1hour 24hours = 1day 30.5 days = 1 month (give or take) 12.5kBytes/sec * (60 * 60 * 24 * 30.5)sec = 32,940,000kBytes 32,940,000kBytes / 1024kBytes/MB = 32,167.96875MB 32,167.96875MB / 1024MB/GB = 31.4140GB 100kbit/s = 31.4140GB/mo So essentially: x kbit/s * .314140 = y GB/mo That look right to everyone else? Generally (and roughly): 128kbit/s = 40GB 256kbit/s = 80GB 1MBit/s = 320GB LinuxGroup 12-24-2001, 11:40 AM thanks |
