View Full Version : Cheap reseller accounts
mpone 07-19-2004, 08:07 AM Hi,
Just to tell you I have found really cheap reseller web hosting:
www.meinwebserver.com (http://www.meinwebserver.com)
samer 07-19-2004, 08:12 AM hey,
ya its so cheap but almost have no history anywhere not here or even in google so im not sure.
mpone 07-19-2004, 08:15 AM Maybe they just advertise somewhere else, and they look good, servers in California and Graz.

InSite 07-19-2004, 08:37 AM "MEIN WEBSERVER offers you a RESELLER PACKAGE with UNLIMITED STORAGE - UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH - UNLIMITED DOMAINS - UNLIMITED USERS.
We are aware that hardware-ressources are always limited but we will keep upgrading hardware for your account as long as the TOS is respected (no warez-sites etc.). You can even offer unlimited ressources to all your customers - you will never again have to think about upgrading your package! "
Sounds like an excellent business model - I wish I'd thought of it! :stickout:

Somehow I missed that at my first glance. This is great, I can just take all my servers offline and host all my client in one great
"reseller package" for less than 5% the price! Gee, I better get switching. I wonder how many hard drives they can fit in that server.
NexDog 07-19-2004, 09:07 AM It's the very latest thing in Austrian webhosting. They a bit slow down there. :stickout:
Rydel 07-19-2004, 09:08 AM I bought the "unlimited" package on eBay for $3.25 a month...I'll let you guys know how it goes. :P
Arno|VDH 07-19-2004, 09:21 AM tbh this sounds unbelievable and it makes me laugh as well
so basicly e-mail them everytime when you reached a 60 to 100 GB to test them and lets see after 4 or more e-mails what they do, bit funny actually
rydelonline keep us indeed informed over 1 or 2 months how it all goes :)

Hi,
Just to tell you I have found really cheap reseller web hosting:
www.meinwebserver.com (http://www.meinwebserver.com) Actually, if the previous posts about this Host offering 'unlimited' everything (anything?) are true, then you have found a very 'bad' reseller web hosting.
Thanks for letting us know so everyone can stay away from it!
Always assess a host's reliability before entrusting them with your website or your reseller business.
Some of the tips you must remember while choosing your Host :
How many tech support do they have ?
What's the process of obtaining support with them ?
Do they Back up regularly ?
What are their support hours ?
Good practice monitoring and maintenance such as procedures for detecting errors, backing-up data and the time response guarantee for the support queries ?
Above all do a background search..that's MUST.
1) Check how old the main domain of the co. is ( If a co. is 2 -3 years old you can assume that they are still financially stable..though that should not be the only way how you can judge a co.)
2) Check Google & some other host directories for their PTR.
3) Do a search on hosting forums about them.
4) Never ever trust_a_hosting_co. who offers dead cheap ....theirs a difference in between offering cheap & offering competitive prices, use your instincts to analyze the difference. Remember, a co. offering dead cheap may not sustain the high costs which comes when they grow their infrastructure & then they eventually collapse.
5) Don't be in hurry while ordering..check their response time to your queries during first 2 -3 days and try to speak with them on phone, that way you can ensure that the co. is not run by a 14 years old kid under his garage
6) Always insist on phone no's & an emergency cell no where u could reach them during the time of crisis.
and finally remember ..experience is the best teacher...so learn from your experiences and never do the same mistakes you did in past while choosing your host.
Wish you all the very best
ldcdc 07-19-2004, 12:40 PM Two threads about this company? Maybe that's how they got those 5000 resellers so fast. ;)

Is price the only thing you look for in a Host?
seekhosting 07-21-2004, 01:55 AM Hi,
Maybe all hosting companies will be closed one by one until they also offer everything unlimited....:D :D
Best regards
ukdzine 07-21-2004, 02:31 AM Unlimited everything is OK so long as it's not transfer and disk space. It's a load of rubbish what they say about updating the server as they grow. Nobody can afford to add new HDD for free... do they think people are stupid?!

No, they must have those new unlimted space HDs. :D

I guess so. I gotta get me one of those!!!
Rob T 07-21-2004, 08:20 AM I would reply to this the same way I reply to all hosts who offer "unlimited disk space".
I'll buy your company for 5 times annual revenue - all you have to do is give me the name of the guy who sells you your "unlimited GB hard disks" :stickout:

Please quote where I offer an unlimited amount of anything I can't provide.
nickn 07-22-2004, 10:49 AM Well, if you want to get technical...
Even unlimited email aliases don't exist because each email alias entry takes disk space, and being there is no unlimited harddrives, there can't technically even be unlimited email aliases.
ldcdc 07-22-2004, 11:32 AM I agree that the wording "unlimited email alises" or whatever can be misleading and it would be fairly easy for the host to explain that they're limited by the space you have.
On the other hand, fact is that you'll not be asked to upgrade/leave because you have too many email alises, you'll be asked to leave/upgrade because you're reaching the limits of the space quota. ;)
osckar 07-22-2004, 11:40 AM Hi:
"Unlimited" is just a Marketing trick :) We all know that unlimited bandwidth & space are impossible, but imagine 5,000+ resellers using unmetered services (as they say in the home page) ... sounds kinda heavy loaded.
But 19.95/mo for 20GB/100GB is reasonable good deal. Going to sign up! *lol*

Actually it does exist. I don't limit the number of email aliases, simple as that. Your space and bandwith is limited, not the number of aliases. It's not a difficult concept. Unlimited aliases is possible, unlimited space/bandwidth isn't. If someone wants to sign up with 20,000 email aliases, by all means go ahead as long as you don't go over any of the other limits placed on the account.
You're simply trying to pick a fight. I do not offer unlimited space or bandwidth.

That's the same logic used by people offering 'unlimited' Web space and Data transfer. They define "other limits" in their TOS somewhere, but essentially it's the same.
"Yeah, you can have unlimited everything as long as you don't use it."
Nobody can offer 'unlimited' anything on a Server because everything on a Server is limited!
Simple, yes?

Using your theory nothing in existance in unlimited.

Hard drive space is limited, bandwidth is limited. Both have physical limitations. Email aliases have no physical limitation. There is no limit on the number of email aliases. You're comparing email aliases to storage space, yes one restricts the other but it's quite obvious. I'm not running a scam. Companies claiming they offer unlimited space or bandwidth are making promises that are physically impossible, since both have a hard cap. Email aliases do not.
There is no reason to set a limit. If I set a cap at 500, what if a client wanted 600 and they were able to fit it in their alloted resources? The actual caps will vary based on the account and content within it. It's a simple concept. The only limits I define are space and bandwidth since both have a physical restriction.
If you can't comprehend that, I can't help you.
Website Rob 07-23-2004, 11:16 PM I comprehend just fine, thank you.
It would seem though, anyone who disagrees with your logic is someone you have a problem with?
Using your theory nothing in existance in unlimited.
Now that is a statement I can agree with. :D

You're the one that hijacked this thread for nothing more than personal attacks. I've stated valid points, you've done nothing but irritate me with your pointless complaining.
Website Rob 07-24-2004, 02:22 PM I count at least 3 other people who posted statements that also disagree, with a Hoster saying they could offer unlimited eMail aliases. I guess the fact that others besides myself have also stated valid points is beside the point? It would seem that people posting statements to counter your claims displeases you greatly. You took the same attitude with nickn, when they also disagreed with your statement and made a contrary one.
I also didn't realize this was your personal thread. Please put your name on your future threads so I will know. ;)
Amdac 07-24-2004, 05:19 PM No offense, but you really need a life if this is all you do all day. I did not say his was "my" thread, I said you hijacked it from the original poster. I'm done wasting my time with you. My clients are quite happy with my services, if you have a problem with them, I could care less. Move on with your life and try posting something productive other than random harassing posts. This is not a place to whine and cry because you don't like how other companies run their business. Grow up.
NexDog 07-24-2004, 10:11 PM One of you should coose a different sig color. ;)
freak 07-25-2004, 07:15 AM Hm...
Unlimited Space and Bandwidth and Users and Resource and Emails.
Now, who said it was impossible for google to make a profit from gmail? It only costs 50 bucks anyway...

I think, you just don't like the fact that I will not let you get away with bully tatics and whining remarks. You can huff & puff all you want, but if you cannot take people responding to your posts and (gasp) possibly even contradicting what you say, then please don't post or suck it up and deal with it.
Either way, tone down your personal comments to a more polite level. You never know who will be reading your posts or think the less of you for them.

Amdac 07-25-2004, 11:28 PM I do find it humorous that everything you accuse me of is exactly what you're doing, not the other way around. Even when I back out, you still jump in with your childish comments. Enjoy whining. I wont see any more replies you leave since I could care less about your 12 year old approach to business ethics.

Do think they would use not knowing how to spell as a loophole -- for not being able to offer what they Advertise? ;)

What would be no over selling a server??
BaselineAce 08-20-2004, 07:12 PM Mein is looking interesting..
DaveGraney 08-21-2004, 01:13 AM Cheapest deal on any reseller accounts at the moment is the matrixreseller (vortech) 4th Birthday special - half price on their Cypher account for the next 2 weeks is VERY cheap.
Would be great to have a running thread of REAL specials like this so ppl can get set up notifications and hear of them when they're around. Only problem is I guess it could turn into an advertising and self-promotions thread rather then a REAL deals thread. Would be good though!
Cheers
Vortech 08-21-2004, 08:25 AM Good idea Dave.. But like you said then everyone would have some kind special. My 2nd week in business special. The 1 year 2 months and 6 day special.. LoL
I could see it happening here. But it would be funny to see what some would come up with.. :)
DaveGraney 08-21-2004, 08:56 AM Don't forget the fire sale!
I could just imagine... :-)
Vortech 08-21-2004, 03:15 PM Could have had a Hurricane sale last week.. LoL
rcrrich 08-21-2004, 04:10 PM Just a real sale for sure as always there will be from time to time.
monkel 08-21-2004, 09:27 PM i like crystaltech.com up to 30% off list prices once u have 10 accounts.
rrandjic 08-21-2004, 10:55 PM I noticed some guys around selling web hosting from their bedroom PC. I can bet they can offer cheap unlimited web hosting plans.
