View Full Version : Gazzin.com Report
samer 07-19-2004, 03:06 AM hello,
well after alot of searching, i decided to go with Gazzin.com however they are new company, started on (2 july 2004) and they are over selling, but i had chat with the support twice now, and i have good feeling about it, i know they should act good since they just started and want new costumers, but i decided to give it try now im in the free trail 30 days.
i have sign up for plan2 about 10$ a month.
i will send here report every some days or weeks about how is the hosting is going with me so other ppl find some kind of history about it.
CPW-Carl 07-19-2004, 04:50 AM Good luck, report back in 6 months. ;)
NeoGen 07-19-2004, 12:06 PM I think Gazzin and www.psychz.net are same. Does any one know more about this?
Arno|VDH 07-19-2004, 12:13 PM the owner of gazzin.com is psychz.net
samer 07-19-2004, 04:23 PM thats right, gazzin.com is sister company for pyschz.net
bluzman32 08-15-2004, 06:07 PM Samer, can you tell us how gazzin.com has been? I'm interested in their deals.
sitespt 08-15-2004, 10:17 PM I would like to know too how is it going.
Thank you
Alperen 08-16-2004, 06:40 AM i saw Data Transfer is based on usage. it is overselling, right?
sitespt 08-16-2004, 07:57 AM Yes it is overselling.
I'm using a 30 day trial now... I'll keep you post.
bluzman32 08-16-2004, 11:00 AM I was talking to their staff, and they said they're planning to raise the prices, hopefully to get out of that overselling.
sitespt 08-19-2004, 08:53 PM Maybe they will raise prices, but you must all agree... the actual are great prices.
bluzman32 08-19-2004, 09:19 PM Yea, I'm going to be signing up on their free month trial soon.
Alperen 08-20-2004, 12:32 AM how is Gazzin.com Report ? Any experience?
When i go for WHOIS http://www.whois.sc/gazzin.com
i see that Reverse IP: Web server hosts 2 websites
do they have only 2 websites? or why/what is this?
cywkevin 08-20-2004, 01:07 AM That doesn't mean anything. They could have shared sites on another ip.
Alperen 08-20-2004, 01:56 AM You are right :)
But how can they prove the number of cutomers they have?
bluzman32 08-20-2004, 02:04 AM I dont think most hosts would want to put their main site with their customers' sites.
Alperen 08-20-2004, 02:15 AM ok. but then where do they put? and how do they prove it?
if i say that i have 10000 costumer.. will u believe?
i need to prove it in some way?
and i want to know how many websites they keep in a server.
is there any way to do this?
thx
bluzman32 08-20-2004, 02:39 AM Maybe they could give you a bunch of their server IPs so you can reverse IP them. Its all out of speculation. :)
ashokwrd 08-20-2004, 09:16 AM Hi Samer
What is your experience now? Can you PM me?
Indiepath 08-21-2004, 03:21 AM @Samer: I would be also keen to hear your experiences with gazzin.com...

Well, there is no sure way of knowing how many customer a hosting company has. You can try asking how many servers they have and how many employees they have and that would give a good gauge.
Customer number is something which many companies won't tell you in the first place.
sitespt 08-22-2004, 06:35 PM Well... I'm checking the uptime of my domain in one server of them, since 15/08.
You can see it on: http://www.siteuptime.com/statistics.php?Id=12025&&UserId=11394
Indiepath 08-23-2004, 12:23 AM 1 outgage every 2 days? doesn't sound so good... I guess you get what you pay for...
bluzman32 08-23-2004, 12:35 AM But...isnt the downtime insignificantly small to still have a 98% uptime?
Indiepath 08-23-2004, 06:45 AM If my site would have 98% uptime it would mean 2% downtime. 2% downtime means one week (170 hours) fully offline site per year. If our site sells 2 items (@$20) per day then these downtimes would cost me $280 per year... Paying few extra bucks per month for better uptime would mean more sales.
Alperen 08-23-2004, 08:26 AM hmm this is true. i was thinking to have an account with them, but im now deeply thinking :)
still couldnt find a reseller plan :(
sitespt 08-23-2004, 08:34 AM Well, my own domain name does not shows the same downtime.
Maybe because there are 2 IP's and I'm just monitoring 1 IP??? I have 99.733% uptime from 15th August. Just 1 outage.
Member Of Gazzin.com for 20 days Good Service server #1
good Job Gazzin.com
sitespt 08-26-2004, 01:37 PM I must say...
Live Support is very limited. Almost NONE of my questions were solved. When I need someone to be solved urgently, the supporter says to submit a ticket... and in the Ticket Support... it takes too long to have my question solved.
You really have what you pay for...

The questions is probably unsupported by our tech guys. This is not a one man company so its quite difficult if someone asks for specific custom packages, or something that is out of the tech's knowledge. Our livechat provides basic support. We're also constantly training our guys so they may know whats going on and more about our company.
sitespt 08-26-2004, 03:08 PM Well... the problem is solved, 7 hours after I submitted...
So... it is not quite long... sorry for my urgent need at that moment.

You probably needed something that required our senior admin's attention. However, all our basic supports are resolved within 4 hours or less.
HostsWebs 08-28-2004, 03:15 PM Ummm.... :)

jvmombay 09-22-2004, 02:37 AM I can't help but show my appreciation on this thread.
Good work Gazzin. It is refreshing to see happy clients especially during the few weeks when everything was "almost" not a good news.
hkwebspace 09-22-2004, 03:34 AM I would like to have an reply on this thread

what I experience in Gazzin is divide in 3 stage
the first stage is the time at signup and the week follow, the server is stable and fast, the tech help me move all website from previous hosting to their server, the first impression is helpful, fast and good !!
Then the second stage is 2 weeks before until 20-sept
the server are going up and down VERY SERIOUS !!!
I'm not angry with them, but some disappointed....
they try their best to figure the problem and solve one by one
I understand their effort, so this is why I'm still with them
but this problem really make all of us think of some reason for facing our client.......
Then the final stage is 21-sept until now
the server seems become stable
(I use seems because it's only 1-2 days, cant say it is a MUST)
and I would like to thanks William !!!!!
He is a very helpful guy in Gazzin and he help me a lot !!
no matter any sort of problem, he will try his very best to solve it
and one more thing, I can feel he is very enjoy in this job
I think he is happy if his client problem is gone !!
his attitude is always good and positive !
So I'll step forward into my second months with Gazzin....
I think at this moment, I wont go ~
their services is really good !!
(5+ is the most)
Server : ++++
Staff : +++++
Price : +++++
Respond : +++++
P.S. I'm Patrick.
bluzman32 09-22-2004, 09:56 AM Same here, I never notice the outages on my site because they get fixed pretty quickly, only siteuptime notifies me.
UnifiedNet 09-22-2004, 09:58 AM which proc's is siteuptime reporting the outage for?
bluzman32 09-22-2004, 06:48 PM Originally posted by UnifiedNet

Are you talking to me?
I have remnetworks.com with gazzin. http://www.siteuptime.com/statistics.php?Id=12901&&UserId=11888
UnifiedNet 09-22-2004, 06:59 PM Thats a very rough month!!
I am sure they will set you straight!
bfwdesigns 09-23-2004, 03:00 PM It has been almost a month being with gazzin and so far no problems. There prices are real good and heard a rumor that they might be increasing their prices. I hope that I would be grandfathered in with my package. The support has been wonderful. They respond so quick and are eager to help. I had one support ticket where I did not respond back because of the hurricane and they were emailing me back with their concern. I would definitely give them a try!
phoggie 09-23-2004, 04:18 PM Well, i'm certainly going to pull my account with them...waaaay to much downtime on my sites. Today again, down for hours and when i inquired about the problems with live support i simply got "Its going to be up." ....yeah sure, but when??
sitespt 09-23-2004, 06:27 PM Well... this is going down and down...
It is not possible... having a huge downtime like this one... MORE than 2 hours??? This is unacceptable at all, for me!
I'll see the excuses from Gazzin about this...
My easymonitor is giving me a 95,87% from 18/Sep... this is very bad...
Dactyl 09-23-2004, 07:12 PM MY site with gazzin has been down for about 5 hours, this is totally destroying my reputation and my services!
I'v been moving from a reseller to another, i think its time to get a VPS.
MY site with gazzin has been down for about 5 hours, this is totally destroying my reputation and my services!
ditto.
I had a live chat with their support at 16:44EDT, it went like this:
System: Please Wait while connecting to an operator
You''re connected to operator - Bob
Bob: Hi, how may I assist you?
mike: panda is down.
Bob: Hi Mike!
mike: aloha.
Bob: We are working on it.
mike: how long has it been down?
Bob: It will be up shortly.
mike: i woke up, and it was down.
Bob: :-)
Bob: It's going to be up.
mike: okay.
mike: bye
Bob: Please don't worry!
Bob: Bye!
Then at 18:11EDT I emailed them with this:
Hi,
About an hour ago, i was told that panda would be online in a few
minutes. It still not online.

At 18:53EDT I recieved a reply stating:
Hello,
I apologize for your inconvenience. We are currently facing some problem with the server. But our expert team is working hard to resolve the issues and hopefully it will be resolved within couple of hours.
Thanks
I'm happy I haven't launched my business with them yet, although I am currently developing hte site on their server, and have been unable to proceed with the work due to this outage.
I am disappointed that my forum (aforum.us) is not currently accessable to the public due to this outage.
Dactyl 09-24-2004, 02:39 AM ok my site is back up, i dnt know how much it stayed down since i didnt keep monitering it, but it was down for 5 hours , thats for sure.
If they continue with 100% uptime in the coming two weeks, then i would stay with them, other than that iam moving once more :(
joshuayip 09-24-2004, 04:52 AM Just that you guys know, Gazzin's site is pretty slow on my end, in South East Asia. However, I didnt monitor its downtime
Joshua
clanosiris 09-24-2004, 02:20 PM Many of these issues discussed on the forum has already been addressed by the admin.
We have already powered up a dual opteron, raid1, 2GB RAM server known as "cheetah" which will now be open to new clients. We closed off all the current servers for accepting any more orders this should solved abuse, etc..
hunkman 09-26-2004, 10:36 AM Any outages since the said upgrade by gazzin? just curious.... hope to see some posts...
Dactyl 09-26-2004, 10:41 AM no, non so far, i recieved an email today updating this issue, they said they moved some heavy sites of the current server to the new one, seems all is fine now.
Ill post in this thread if there are any important updates.
Regards
hunkman 09-26-2004, 10:58 AM great! i am evaluating them and hope to see good reviews on the coming weeks...
sitespt 09-26-2004, 11:30 AM After a 5 hours server down (friday)
and overload server all day (saturday)...
Everything seems ok now (sunday)
mezoc 09-26-2004, 11:56 AM I just signed up with Gazzin two days ago. So far so good, no downtime in the past two days. I'm on their newly set up server, Cheeta, which is a Dual AMD Opteron set.
Seems to have some minor issue with some applications due to the 64bit server. However, the stability is good so far.
clanosiris 09-26-2004, 07:32 PM The only application issue is frontpage which is only supporting i386 / alpha. We're hoping a port will be out for frontpage real soon so we can begin patching this up.
Other than that the opteron server is quite powerful compare to its xeon.
foxmen 09-29-2004, 06:57 PM I would like hosting with
gazzin
the price is the best!!!!
but
I need great UP time !!!! http email server ! !ALL !!!
Hosting with gazzin is recommendable or no?
Thanks ALot !!!
Dactyl 09-29-2004, 07:11 PM They are better now, after introducing the new server.
joshuayip 09-30-2004, 01:21 AM How long has the new server been running? Anyone has experienced downtime since then ?
Joshua
Dactyl 09-30-2004, 03:29 AM about 10 days i guess, and the service has been better after that.
shiny 10-28-2004, 01:39 AM I dont know about their uptime but based on the recommendations in this forum and elsewhere I signed up with them and this is my experience.
35 hours and 4 emails after sign up and I had not received any details of my account nor any response to my numerous requests for the details to be sent.
After posting on their forum and sending yet another email I finally get the delightful William who apologises profusely, tells me my support emails went to some wierd place they only check every 7 days (and he doesnt know why) and then promises to send me the account details in the next 5 minutes. He doesnt offer an explanation as to why the account has not been set up after nearly 2 days.
An hour later (and a few more emails between me and William) and the account details are finaly sent and received by me.
But hold on.... now I have problems signing in - the system tells me I dont exist.
So I send another support request. I get one response asking for more info which I send. Then.....nothing.
I send a total of 6 more emails to their support address, their sales address and their website ticketing system - I even use two different email addresses of my own in case there is a problem relating to my sign up email.
And here I am hours later - still no response.
I have cancelled my account with them. At least I think I have - I still havent had any response to the cancellation emails so who knows.
I dont know what everyone else has experienced with them but they have caused me to waste 3 days and lose the opportunity to host with my second preference host (turnkey) who have now sold out of plans. Maybe they have been great for others and thats nice. But for me they have been a nightmare (apart from how sweet William was) and caused me a great deal of stress and aggravation.
I am pretty angry with all this right now and I'm now heading off to try and enjoy my birthday knowing my business is not online and won't be for a while yet coz now I have to go back to the drawing board and research reseller webhosts all over again.
Spewing!!!!
