Since yesterday I've noticed a strange blop on my ZoneAlarm image within the taskbar.

Anybody know what it is?

It takes up 1/4 of the ZA image, bottom right hand corner, and is yellow (majority) and red. It's solid but sometimes flashes on and off.

Can't really make out what it looks like, ie. an apple, tooth, italic h.

I think it's a "Q". If you RIGHT-click on the icon, then choose "Restore ZoneAlarm Control Center," you'll probably find a new alert in the "Current Alerts" box.

Actually, people have posted other strange looking things in ZoneAlarm, see: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21441&highlight=ZoneAlarm (second post has an image that works, the first post's link is messed up).

I had that happening too, what it really means is that someone tried to connect to your computer, or a program tried to connect, and the ZoneAlarm blocked.

There is a detail of these attempts in the program itself.

Thanks, I found out what caused it.

I installed a Virtual CD demo the other day and I seem to think that's when it started occuring because when installing VCD it outputted an error, or should I say ZA did. It said something about true victor (vector?) and would I like to restart true victor. I selected restart.

Virtual CD is a great program by the way. If you find it annoying when you want to run a program installed on your hdd but it requires the CD to launch, then you need VCD. Simply create a virtual drive with the program and then create a virtual CD and voola... no more need for searching and swopping for CDs when trying to start a program.
