Chicken 12-23-2001, 01:02 PM Seems to be a bit slow going with this thread, yet one that could help people so I'll jump start it... Out of all the hosts I've used, two have been great... http://www.tera-byte.com Services used: Colocation and Dedicated Dedicated was a RaQ4r which had the various problems that RaQs have. Every support issue was handled quickly except for one (which they didn't have an answer for and it got lost, but I forgot about). Network uptime was great, and for support they have multiple methods of contact (forum, chat, email ticket). Steve and rest of the tera-byte crew took care of things well. No complaints. http://intraspatial.net Services used: Dedicated This is my first experience with Plesk, but David makes you feel comfortable and as others have posted, sends an email every now and then to see if you're still breathing. The first day, I couldn't log into the server, and the issue was handled promptly and professionally by another tech (Joe). I've only had this for a month or so, but so far all is well, and I appreciate the extra help they've given me (and will be giving me, such as moving the chat server over to this server). Connection is fast and I have no complaints. xMarc 12-23-2001, 01:07 PM ImageLinkUsa (http://www.imagelinkusa.net) I've been with them for almost 6 months now, they host two domains for me - www.gosume.com and www.thinkmedialab.com Everything, starting from the price and the services is unbeatable. I highly reccommend them to anyone looking for hosting anytime anywhere. I even challenge anyone to find a company that offers more services.. mbugbee 12-23-2001, 03:32 PM MCHost all the way! Unbeatable support and great server performance. MAtt BBSmith 12-23-2001, 03:48 PM The most trouble free host that I have done business with is Your-Site at http://www.your-site.com I was with them for over a year and never experienced any significant amount of downtime. Their support is solid - a person always answers the telephone, and their email support is prompt. I did not want to leave them but I eventually needed more space and some extra features. But, if you are looking for a budget host with good support, this is what I recommend. If you want more information about my experiences with this host, please feel free to PM me. Curtis H. 12-23-2001, 07:15 PM Out of the hosts I have used, two have stood out amongst the rest and are ones that come highly recommend depending on your needs and budget. PowerSurge (http://www.powersurge.net/) Was with these guys for about 2.5 years. Great uptime and prompt support. In that time period, they honored the original plan I signed on with even though their plans and costs changed. Left only because my site out grew the plan. F5Hosting (http://www.f5hosting.com/) I've been with F5 since July '01 and have been very, very, happy. Support tickets are usually answered within minutes, uptime has been great. Server speed is very good. These guys do not sleep! Allen and the F5 team will do whatever it takes to ensure that your site is online and that you are happy. To date, they have met and exceeded my expectations. Matlok 12-23-2001, 07:24 PM MCHost: Great host with excellent support, but because of a script that caused too much serverload on a shared server I had to switch to a dedicated server, hosted by: Datahosts.net : Great host, great support, great prices and a great network. Can't think of a reason why I should leave them so I won't :) Archbob 12-23-2001, 07:26 PM I use www.phenominet.com its 9.99/month or $60/year. It gives 10GB 100MB PHP, MYSQL, POSTSQL stats 5-pop3 mails Doesn't offer custom perl but that is not part of my needs. avara 12-23-2001, 07:28 PM MCHost are great, especially their fast and friendly customer support. Other good hosts are (IMHO) Ventures Online and Digital Space. cactus 12-23-2001, 08:11 PM Well, I have been with www.splashhost.com for more than three months now as a reseller and during this period, there wasn't any problems for me and my clients on their server(s). I would like to thank WHT, without which I could not have found them. Previously I had to use 2 HOSTS....One active HOST and another HOST as backup with similar features such as WHM & CPANEL, etc. just in case I need to move all my clients to another server at short notice, As they say, "Don't put all your eggs in one basket" could be true and having experience with it, you need to plan carefully or what you have built in years goes down the drain in seconds and I wouldn't want that to happen to me. Having experienced from cheap hosting to expensive ones( more than 10 in 2 years ), I would rate splashhost.com as number one(the best) in terms of support, honesty and quality of their server(s). No offense to the other HOSTS in this Forum, I am sure if you can deliver the product with good support, honesty and responsiblity, you definitely have an edge in your business and it's only a matter of time that your clients will speak highly of your services. Ihoppoet 12-24-2001, 01:10 AM I have been very happy with www.palmversa.com for some time now, and after the horrors my last host put me through I was a little reluctant to walk back into the flames. but anyway, Palmversa has given me great support, they have web based support program, a chat for its members, and aol aims support. they set up my chat forum for me two differant times, they also took the time to show me how it all works. but more than having good deals and support, the most important part about palmversa is that they have always been honest with me. which is more than I can for my last host! I've been with palmversa for about 6 months now and i'm happy! ps hope my signature works lol |
