View Full Version : Shy do people do these things?
netsolutions 12-21-2001, 11:11 PM I hate when people just post a bad review about you for the hell of it. No name, no email, no message, no nothing, just all 1s cause they can. Check it out at http://www.findsp.com/Hosting/ShowReviews.asp?CompanyID=839&return_url= It's obviously the one that has the post
eh, ok
DigitalXWeb 12-22-2001, 02:11 AM I would have to agree, That is wrong in my opinion. Personally I think reviews should at least have some sort of verification before they are posted publicly. I realize that would mean alot of monitoring and administration, but anyone under the sun can just go and post bad reviews for their competitors just to make themselves look good..
On another note, just by looking at that review, if I was really interested in hosting a site I would disregard the anonymous post due to the fact that everyone you have there is in the 5 range. Of course that could be false also (not accusing you so please dont take it that way), I would ask for current customers of yours to ask them personally of their experience hosting with your company.
It's sad that things like this have to happen they way they do with almost every review site.
Is there anyway you may be able to dispute that or add a comment?? Just a thought..
netsolutions 12-22-2001, 02:39 AM Unfortunatley there is no way for me to dispute that or post a comment. I agree that it goes both ways. I think reviews should list, the customers name, their email, possibley their IP, their domain that is being hosting, and a legit comment. At least this way things would work out a lot better for all of us. Thanks for your support in this matter DigitalXWeb :)

That Sucks Bigtime.
netsolutions 12-22-2001, 10:54 PM I am starting to understand why Host Search shut down their review section. We use FindSP for our review section and people have majorly abused it - http://www.findsp.com/Hosting/ShowReviews.asp?CompanyID=839&return_url= As you can see one person calling himself "me" has posted pretty much nothing about us and the other people why don't even host. These people are just posting bad reviews about us probabley because they are our competitors and want to make us look bad. Why do people do this? Don't they have any respect?

No, they don't. But you could have probably worked that out for yourself, couldn't you? ;)

Okay I will :) But I'm still mad at these people
MrLister 12-23-2001, 02:05 AM FindSP auctually allows multiple reviews by the same IP in the same day. Host search had a good method. You HAD to have a domain. So for example www.echolima.com and your e-mail had to end in echolima.com otherwise you couldn't post it. FindSP has no preotection against anything. Best part is, their form to make a review. leave blank for anonymous and just fill in the review.
danushman 12-23-2001, 02:54 PM HostingCatalog has a simple way to prevent multiple bad reviews from one person: One review per IP, period.

What about when people switch hosts and hten have something good to say?
danushman 12-25-2001, 03:09 AM Well,
It is one review per IP per listing. They can review other hosts if they like, however only once each.
