I'll answer the question for the best solution part.

You are best with, a good dedicated server from a reputable (not big or small) company, with a 3rd party Server Administrator. That is your best solution.

However if you have deep pockets, and the income generating from your dating site is sizeable, i recommend a real managed provider rackspace.com .

this is what i consider fully managed:

- System Administration
- System Securing
- System Updating
- Application/Program installation/configuration
- Services Monitoring - with status updates to staff who resolve issue on notification.
- Total system administration
- Setup of your webservices and applications
- We retain control of root password and manage the server *for* you.
- You will receive a shell account on the server, and access to all neccasary applications. (IE: FTP, PhpMyAdmin, etc)
- Guaranteed Support Availability We will be able to be contacted 24/7 via one of our mediums. (ICQ/AIM/Email/Helpdesk/Phone)

Thats a copy/paste from an advertisement I saw and thats what I consider fully managed...

However, they were charging a good amount for it but i bet whoever hosts with them isnt regreting it.

You could also consider ServInt (http://www.servint.com/specials) as a fully managed provider. You could also consider takign an itermediate step by starting with one of their fully managed VPS solutions (http://www.servint.com/whtvps).

Great network and top shelf support, they are a solid choice...

Greetings:

You really need to ask each provider what they are responsible for handling, and what you are responsible for handling.

The answers will vary from provider to provider.

Thank you.
