hehe - well as one of the "ex-equinix" customers, I guess I am also on this dcjn network. http://www.neaturl.com

Jay - got some more info about it for us?

In any case, although I'm not sucking up a huge amount of bandwidth, and therefor not needing to burst too high, the network is nice. Ping times are nice (not amazing), and the actual performance of HTTP transfers is good. People tell me the neaturl web site loads fast.

I am an ex-equinix customer, so I must be on this network. I do frequent testing of the network, and for the most part have been very happy with it. I can usually get dowload bursts between 1000 and 4000 KB/s to a nearby east coast server in a different facility, and speeds or 300 to 900 KB/s to a west coast server at Stanford.

There have been a few minor problems, such as short periods in which my site was unreachable and a period of a couple days of very slow bursts due to a switch problem. I consider the switch problem to be a serious incident. But as a whole uptime has been excellent and the network has been very good, especially considering the price that I am paying. The network is vastly superior to the one with the old equinix facility.

Support is also good. The people I have worked with seem especially knowledgable. Some other hosts I have been with had support representatives who acted as if they knew little about dedicated servers. . I get the impression that that support can be busy, or maybe the problem is that I usually want immediate service. They have consistently responded to important emails within 12 hours. It may take longer than that for them to fix the problem, depending on how serious they consider the problem to be. When I had a very serious problem and accidentally deleted my site, they had it back up in about a half-hour after my call, even though I called after normal business hours. I like having a 1-800 number where I can call and speak with a real person. Many other hosts that I have been with put you on hold for a long time and/or make you go through a maze of buttons to get to the right person.

This slightly off topic but I just got to say it... www.imhosted.com ...

:spiny: WOW :spiny:

What a web site! A lot of web hosts could do themselves a favour and go through the superb design/layout and marketing copy of this web site! Awesome!

Just one thing - since we are no longer in Equinix, all the amazing IBX graphics and multimedia, etc is obsolete now :emlaugh: Oh, boy, I feel for imhosted - so much work has gone into showing off the equinix noc!
