View Full Version : Help with Domain Transfer from iregistrations.com
tOyShOp 07-15-2004, 08:56 AM Hi Guys,
I need Help!! I have a few domains with iregistrations.com but I find their service not that appealing.
So, I have switched to using registerfly.
There is the option of domain transfer in registerfly, and I tried to do the transfers for the domain currently held at iregistrations.com.
However, even after I have received an email, and approved of the transfer, the transfer still failed.
The status as given by registerfly is: Domain is locked or not yet 60 days old.
However, the domains are definitely more than 60 days old and are in fact nearing expiry.
I have emailed the support of iregistartions.com, but till now there isn't any reply from them.
May I ask what other options do I have?
To renew the domains at iregistrations.com? Are they holding my domains hostage because they are nearing expiry?
Thank you!!
hostbox 07-15-2004, 09:48 AM Whats the domain?
dmaven 07-15-2004, 09:51 AM You can do a whois lookup and get the domain status. If it shows as ACTIVE it is not locked. If it shows as LOCKED or REGISTRAR LOCK the domain name is locked and you must remove the lock before you transfer the name
tOyShOp 07-15-2004, 09:53 AM I have a number of domains with them.
I did a whois on the domains and found the status to be :registrar-locked
I understand that iregistrations is but a reseller of enom. So, I emailed enom. But I am wondering if they would help me unlock the domains.

What does the WHOIS says? Do you own it? Is your eMail listed there? if so yes.

Yes I own the domains. Because I can actually log into my account (the domains) at iregistrations. But there isn't a option to unlock there.
dmaven 07-15-2004, 10:01 AM if you are unable to get a satisfactory response from iregistrations you can contact enom and I am quite sure they will help you
tOyShOp 07-15-2004, 10:04 AM Thanx guys!! I am more reassured knowing that enom would help me..
It's incredible that the support crew at ireg is almost/perpetually unreachable/nonexistent..
dmaven 07-15-2004, 10:07 AM I am shocked iregistrations is still in business.
tOyShOp 07-16-2004, 01:56 AM Hmm I have emailed enom (at info@enom.com) already, and it's been a day since I sent out the mail. How fast should their responses be?
Anyway, iregistrations still has not answered any of my trouble tickets..
Bdzzld 07-16-2004, 03:16 AM Have you also tried to e-mail them at support@enom.com ?
They'll probably answer support requests faster...
Good luck!
Bashar 07-16-2004, 04:43 PM www.enom.com/help
but they will redirect u to iregistration.com
usually they need to unlock the domain for you to be able to transfer out.
try logging with your domain and the first password you used during registration at http://access.enom.com see if it works then unlock your domain.
hopefully when iregistration reply they dont charge you for more fees 'transfer out' , low cost companies usually does this :(

When do they expire?

I don't have the 1st password with me anymore.. shucks.. So I can't access that page.
Registerfly will already be charging me for the transfer.. and you mean I may possibly have to pay iregistrations again. oh my god..

2 of the domains are expiring in end july. and the other 3 in mid august.
Bashar 07-17-2004, 01:44 AM you can transfer to any other registrar and this will add 1 year registration when you leave iregistrations.com
make sure the domain is not LOCKED, you can check it from www.internic.net/whios.html
check the Status: line
if it shows Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK then bad luck you have to contact iregistrations to unlock it, if it shows Status: ACTIVE then you're lucky and you can transfer out without any problems.
make sure you're the administrative contact email to transfer out.

Hi Thanx =)
yeah I knew about all these. And indeed, the domains are registrar locked.
The problem is that enom and iregistrations have failed to answer to my emails yet. sigh..
Bashar 07-17-2004, 04:31 AM weekend just started, enom supports usually dead during weekens :(

Oh no.. that's really really bad. Hmm but I emailed enom on thursday evening??
Bashar 07-17-2004, 06:42 AM they focus their support on their resellers and using the enom.com/help ticket system more than emails i believe.
dmaven 07-18-2004, 06:28 AM enom does not really reply to emails. If you use their ticket system, they should get back to your fairly quickly

Ok thanx guys. I am going to try their ticket system now. Because enom haven't reply my email as well. Thanx again. I will update the progress here. =)
tOyShOp 07-20-2004, 02:36 AM ireg finally replied and enom replied as well. My problem is solved. Thanks guys!!
Bashar 07-20-2004, 06:08 AM glad to hear that :)
vishen 08-10-2004, 09:19 AM Hi tOyShOp
I'm having the same trouble you are having. Could you give me some advice - How do I find the eNom ticket system? Looked all over their website and nill?
also - out of curiosity - when your problem was resolved - was it enom or iregisrations that helped you?
eSology 08-10-2004, 09:25 AM eNom ticket system is under "Help" and then "Support Center"
srprasad 08-10-2004, 02:19 PM I am sure that you will not have any way to come out of iRegistrations. I personally have few domains with them,
forget about Domain Transfers, even for basic things their
Support does not respond.
I had a issue with them in the past that i wanted to change my Name Servers and i was unable to login even after 15 days there was no reply, and even contacting Enom was of no use, as they in return asked me to contact iregistrations.
Regards
Ratna
vishen 08-10-2004, 02:45 PM Well tOyShOp somehow found a way out of it - so I'm going to stay positive. I just found out that iReg had been charging me $20 a month for "search engine submission" because I had forgotten to unclick some box. I have so far been billed $160 - funny - I never even completed their keyword listing tool. Plus everyone knows search engine submission is free in most maor engines.
tOyShOp - still hoping to hear from you
I am not going to lose my domain. Too much work has gone into building my company to see it go down to a bunch of crooks and scam artists.
dmaven 08-10-2004, 03:50 PM beware of these people. Many people have been burned by these people, very shady tactics.

Vishen, please when posting use the proper company name i.e iregistrations is NOT ireg two separate companies - cheers.
Secondly I too would love to know how to get a domain out of iregistrations I have one customer with 3 there that are simply refused each and every time a request is made - no response from support.

Bashar 08-13-2004, 05:25 PM i doubt enom would help you in this situation unless the reseller (iregistrations) are inactive reseller, which i doubt they are.

Enom has already helped me.
Bashar 08-14-2004, 06:01 AM wow great, they unlocked your domain without contacting iregistrations ?
AbsolutelyFreeWeb 08-14-2004, 06:09 AM give us a followup, what happened? how did enom help?
dmaven 08-14-2004, 11:57 AM good news they helped you

enom hasn't helped me with iregistrations yet, but I did write to them. They did help me last year with another registrar who refused to unlock my domain or answer my email. It took two emails to enom, but they finally wrote back and told me they unlocked the domain and I transferred it away.
I wrote to enom about iregistrations, but I have not heard back so I suspect I may have to write them again in another week or so.

I just received an email from enom telling me they have unlocked my domain that iregistrations.com has refused me unlock for me. If anyone out there is having a problem with iregistrations.com I would advise you to write to enom. This is the second time they have unlocked a domain for me.
Bashar 08-18-2004, 02:06 AM thats good and isn't good in the same time.
if someone steal someone else's email address and ask enom to unlock the domain he can transfer the stolen domain easily.
in the same time its good to stop resellers for taking domains as hostages.
but so confusing i'll have to write enom to confirm, its a risky move IMO.

The scenario you describe can happen in any domain transfer without having enom's help.
If somebody steals an email address then they have control of it to accept or decline the
transfer request.
Anyway what is the option in this case? To let iregistrations.com keep my domain because
I cancelled their hosting services?
SydneyJen 08-18-2004, 12:16 PM I had the same problem with iregistrations and trying to transfer my domain away. I wrote to enom and they unlocked it for me.
Write to enom and tell them what is happening, you may have to write twice as I had to last year when they helped me out of a similiar problem with another registrar.
Good luck!
:(

so try writing to them again with iregistrations.com in the subject line and they will get back to you.
