Here's the deal... Basically too much downtime and I have to fight to get a straight answer.. if i get any at all.

This is not good business...

here's the series of Trouble Tickets that I have been submitting

Hello.. my subdomains are not working.. Im sure you guys know already but "just in case" I thought Id let you know..

I try to access my subdomains and I get my 404 message :(

please help..
thanks

Hi,

Your subdomain problem has been fixed, and confirmed with test.dfsound.com If you are still having problems it is being caused by dns caching at your ISP\'s level and will correct itself within a few hours.

okay... none of my users can enter the subdomains... are all THEIR isp\'s a little late on the whole caching thing??

look I really want to know why this happened..
I also want to know when this problem will be fixed.

Anyone who has been to the site recently before this happened will experience the same thing as you until their dns cache expires with their isp, usually around 8 hours. The problem is fixed and can\'t be expedited any further really.

Hi,

I dont know the specifics of it and can\'t seem to find any reason why someone here would have changed anything with reguard to your account.. I just knew how to fix it.

Well regardless I sort of dont care whether they answer or not at this point because I want out.

I need a host with at least 500 megs of space..
LITTLE DOWNTIME..
Phone Support..
Mysql...
supports php, cgi, shtml, mp3, etc etc..
FAST....
subdomains..
e-mail...
ftp...
and at least 15 gigs of bandwidth a month, if not more..

that is what hostrocket is giving me... for $25 a month

Is there anything else out there that can meet or beat that?

Please help me :|

thanks

I can spend more if needed... but if there is anything around that price range.. I can work with it.

Apixhosting.com has the same deal for $19.95 right now.
VenturesOnline.com is offering 500 megs of space and 20 gigs of bandwidth for $24.95.
Hostilizer.com has is offering 500 megs of space and 12 gigs of bandwidth for $9.95.

Your best bet would be to post what you would like in the request forum and have hosts Email what you can offer.

djfony-
I could view the subdomain http://poa.dfsound.com/ with no problems as it took me to a page that was still under construction. And as far as the trouble ticket you submitted, I think that you were being a little harsh on HR.(take a look at the On 2001-12-20 EST at 21:09:44 ticket) Take a look at how fast HR answered and what time of day it was, and from you posts, the tickets were taking between 5-10 minutes to answer. To me that is excellent. In the future, this forum has a wonderfull search feature, where you can search for hosts which come highly recommended such as venturesonline.com (which I think you should go with as they have a 20 gig plan for $25.)

I have taken screenshots for ya.
Personally, it sounds like you didn't setup your xmb forums up correctly.

I wrote this to brendan in a TT:

look brendan.. you would probably know best.. this isnt about a personal grudge or anything.. this is about me keeping my \"online community\" together. If it was just a normal \"about me and my music\" board that got few hits a day.. I wouldnt mind but I dont want to lose users.. just like you dont want to lose customers

can you suggest another place?

Im dead serious.. no personal grudges.. just trying to make the community happy... customer service ;)

If all of your subdomains are leading to the main domain that means they do not have a NameVirtualHost entry in apache for your IP. Without the NVH entry any additional domain or subdomain entry in apache on that IP will go to the main domain. The NVH Entry basically tells apache "hey, there's more than one site on this IP look more closley at the configuration"

djfony

thing is it worked before... then I guess something happened... brendan said he fixed it and still nothing... we are approaching 24 hours now of broken subdomains
