View Full Version : CC Processor that stores Card Numbers

I've read several posts that talk about the problems of securely storing customer credit card numbers. Several members suggested using a merchant service that would store the credit card numbers for you.

Does anyone know the names of any companies that will do this? I'm interested in companies that provide actual merchant accounts and not 3rd party CC processors like Revecom.

Thanks,
Richard

I hope someone can either confirm or deny this *but* I could swear that authorize.net and linkpoint (cardservice), offer reocurring billing, which would mean that the #'s are stored on their servers. Again, *please* correct me if I'm wrong or clarify...

I use Authorize.net and they do store the numbers for you. But their interface is lacking functionality. They dont have anyway of downloading customer info (for mailing lists etc..) in any other form than downloading every batch to date. If you do any volume whatsoever this is a nightmare. They do support recurring billing too.

I think it was $500 to setup and minimal per transaction fees, the chargebacks can kill you at $25 each. Chargebacks are just a fact of internet transaction. Especially if you sell software ;)

We have just gotten an app for authoriz.net and linkpoint. they have recurring billing with cc #'s stored on their servers. we also
are going to be collecting all the cc info and inputting it ourselves and there are no laws against this routine and this is straight from authorize.net

we do not ask our resellers to input a credit card transaction each time they add an account, this has brought us customers from other hosts too.

linkpoint apparently also enables you to add charges to a master account such as adding a resold account to a reseller.

the recurring is sophisticated enough to charge when the account is added and time the recurring to batch into a master for each reseller.

my knuckles are bleeding from manual input of charges and quickbooks pro just doesnt quite cut the mustard.
