View Full Version : Who is "Chicken"?
AdWatcher-Boris 07-13-2004, 12:56 AM Greetings,
I've been browsing through the archives of this forum and found one of the long-time members - "Chicken".
I remembered him being very active on the board a few years ago, even though right now he seems to be modding on HostHideout.
This might be of an odd question, but for some reason it intrigued me, and I would love to find out what exactly happened that made him go over to another forum.
Boris
Gen-T 07-13-2004, 01:12 AM You can use the search feature to find a lot more, but yes, he used to be a mod here.
He started that other forum. He's not just a mod there though. I believe he's the owner
:)
Samuel 07-13-2004, 01:30 AM I hear he tastes just like it.
Martie 07-13-2004, 01:39 AM Chicken :D
Well sometimes he was the one man mod here at WHT.
He is doing fine as far as I know and now owns, operates www.hosthideout.com
Hes a great guy and put ALOT of man-hours into this place.
You could do a search here in the forum for his user name.
He still pops in here at times.
Samuel 07-13-2004, 01:41 AM Chicken, is, and always will be a great part of WHT.
When some stupid user went nuts and created a hundred posts, everyone knew chicken would be in soon to clean up the mess and ping them with a nice comment.
projo 07-13-2004, 10:29 AM I like Chicken. I think of him as a solid rock in the pounding surf of hosting.

He was an early member (userid 130 -- one of the dwindling number of still-active members who has me beat!) and a moderator here (for a time really the only one who was heavily active) and started his own forum. He did both for a while, and as his own forum grew started devoting more time to it and spending less here. Eventually he didn't have time to moderate here and was understandably more interested in building his own place, but he's still around and posts here pretty regularly.

yap... once in a blue moon, like clockwork.
Chicken 07-14-2004, 03:08 AM I'm still on my vacation away from WHT for the most part (last 25 posts takes you back to April). I still stop in from time to time to see what's new but I don't spend 6+ hours a day like the ol' days, heh. It's refreshing to not read all the posts and just click on a few topics and then close the browser without having to spend a hours emailing the offenders.
:: Life is good ::
As for what happened, I'd prefer to keep it positive and just say that many aspects of the forum were headed one way, I was headed another. :D
Imago 07-15-2004, 08:54 AM Almost 13000 posts!? This is quite a forum in itself - more than 10 posts per day, all these years.

Thank you Chicken for your contribution to building this place. Too bad you had to part with WHT though.
linux-tech 07-15-2004, 10:58 PM Chicken is not cow
Chicken is not dog
Chicken doesn't meow
Chicken doesn't blog (or does he, work with me here!)

Chicken can be mean
Chicken does like rice
but chicken doesn't like beans!
Ok, sorry, had to be done!
Chicken, well, you've heard it before. He spent a lot of time on the forums, was a SuperMOD (tm) and kept the place from going too much downhill. Probably wore himself pretty thin doing so too.
<edit -- sorry, had to correct my own english>
Hes the only user I know that makes me hungry and thats why he is so special
Hostex Australia 07-18-2004, 08:29 AM does he taste good?
Xshare 07-18-2004, 09:10 AM Dunno, but he has a kid named nugget.
How is nugget, anywho, Chicken? Last I saw he was cute as ever.
