Anyone have good experience with them? They seem very nice and I had read alot of good things about them. I have not seen too many customer posts from them.

Depends on why you wan't to use them. They resell layeredtech.com, so if you don't want any of their "free managed services" just go directly with layeredtech. Support will likely have a faster resolution time.

I have 4 servers from tomsyer, the support is average, a reply in about 24-48 hours.

Friendly support, will help a lot.

Their servers are hosting in theplanets DC, so it should have a decent level of protection.

Anything else you need to know, pm me or email.

24-48 for a low/medium ticket is ok. What about High and Urgent ticket. Does it take 24-48 hours for them too?

Hmmm although low/medium ticket need 24-48 hours, but I guest It's too long to answer simple questions.

They dont setup servers on weekends, which is where i get most of my business.

Tom himself answers the majority of the support requests, but he is really friendly about it.

This is a good question. So far I don't see positive answers to it. My experience was entirely negative, no matter how nice and friendly was Tom.

Im having a generally good experience with them... The support is reasonably fast, and the servers get set up as i want them.

They are also now including Fantastico.Xcontroller and Clientexec.

Well I am still waiting for two things that needs to be done. And my current support rating for them is slow, maybe it will be faster in the future?

Here is the rundown of the crap I have gone through with them SO FAR.

I order 4 servers with them on Friday. 2 windows 2 linux. Tom told me ya no problem we will get them setup within 72 hours.

Sat morning I get a fake email from them by mistake saying my servers are an hour away from being ready. I get a reply back from Tom stating that is was false and we should have them by monday. I said fine.

Monday rolls around, waiting all day..Finally get word from Tom that he will personally finish them that night himself and will be ready by Tuesday morning.

Go to work this morning, get an email around 11:30 saying 3 of 4 servers are finished and waiting for the 4th one, will be around 2 more hours and the servers are mine. get off work around 2pm, still nothing. Get a reply back around 4:30 and Tom says all 4 are finished and just setting them up for finalizing and within 35 minutes they will be all ready for use.

It is now 8:30pm there time and I have heard NOTHING from Tom or any support team. I have 3 open tickets and I have customers that have been hounding me for days.

Overall I am very upset and VERY dissapointed in what has taken place. If the servers were not already almost finished, I would consider dealing with Layerdtech with Chris.

Im still waiting for my server.

My current server is having a few problems too, apache and bind fail after every reboot.

after all this waiting maybe you should request a refund and go elsewhere :)

I trust in tomsyer, but this wait is annoying me, as well as the client i am setting the server up for.

Where do you suggest i go?

Stay where you are, only change your host. But first read your TOS, especially the cancellation part. After cancelling your server you will have to pay one more month, and only then you'll be free to go.

Though I should admit, Tom exempted me from this condition, or at least I think he did so.

If you want to stay in The Planet data center, check out the offers forum for some good deals.

Good luck.

Sorry you had a bad experience so far I have not had any issues with there setup or support. Most of my tickets are answered within a couple hours and the longest I have waited is 24 hours for a ticket. I will admit that one server took longer than ususal to setup but I ordered it way in advance for that very reason. One thing to live by 'If you need it and you dont have it. Its to late.' (that saying comes from the fire service)

I have used them for many servers and have been very satisfied. They have the same issues as well on the wait, trust me. Once they get the server, they will release it. Tom is a good guy and will make sure everything is alright for you.

I am not here to disrespect Tomsyer Networks at all however i have had a few kernel errors related to the hard drive. I sent in a support ticket to Tomsyer that had urgent selected, it took nearly 12 hours for me to get a response that stated we will get the NOC to look into this issue.

Imagine if i selected the issue as medium. :D

OK! STATUS:

They got one box up for windows, tuesday night that we can log into and the linux servers up. The 2nd windows server had some damn error about a file missing and they said would be fixed very soon.

I get a ticket saying from tom we will look into this issue wed morning. Then I decide I would like to reformat the 2 linux into windows and pay the fees.

Submitted the ticket for the windows box, plus the reformat this morning....It has been almost a week since I ordered these boxes..and Tom will NOT work with me on this. I also have tried calling him today ALL DAY WHILE I WAS AT WORK TO TOM SYER network, kept saying they were all busy.

I am 100% regretting ever going with them, and I feel sorry who are following in my footsteps. I sincerely say to Tom "Get your act together, there is no reason this should have taken this long."

Wanted to apologize to Tom, I was getting very impatient. I have been into hosting for a couple years and Tom is new on the block. So Tom, I know you will read this, put everything behind us and I will talk to you in person sometime to get to know you better. Servers are servers, not life and death, we all have a life and you are pulling 15 hours a day which makes you a true warrior in my book!!

I 100% appreciate your time with my partner and I to get these deployed. You are a good guy and I jumped the gun with this order and I judged too soon.

Cheers and we look forward to hosting with you for a while. :) Thanks Tom!
