Hello,
I am trying to create a new reseller with their own Private Name Servers. This is my first one. Under the Resellers Center in WHM I try to insert their NS and select Assign IP Address. WHM comes back with an error, "Sorry, you are out of ips to assign as nameservers".
Under Tweak Settings, Allow Sharing Nameserver IPs is selected so I am at a loss here.
I know the sharing of IPs with NS can be done.
My Config:
IPs: 2 (configured successfully for my main domain)
WHM 9.4.0
cPanel 9.4.1-S65
OS: VPS RedHat Fedora
I have read where here you can get this working with a work-around, but this will not do when those resellers create account and have their name servers listed.
Any ideas?
TIA,

You have to add all your free IPs under IP Functions.

Under:
Main >> IP Functions >> Show or Delete Current IP Addresses
I can see my 2 IPs
Do you mean I need to add them again but here?
Main >> IP Functions >>Add An Ip Address
Seems strange.

If there are some more free, add them.

I don't have any more then 2. I was asking how come I can't share these 2 with private name servers.

That's interesting. Did you already assign some of the IPs to any domain?

Yes I have 1 IP as the Main Shared IP and the domains are on that. The other IP is technically 'free'. The only place where it is assigned is to my second name server.
Sharing of Name Server IPs is possible, right? I have had reseller accounts on a shared server before and they only use 2 IPs per server, one for hosting and both for private name servers.

There should be no obstacles in assigning your shared IP to a nameserver.
If for some reason you cannot do that, just add the missing nameserver as an A entry to the DNS zone, then it will automatically appear in the list of your nameservers.

Ya, this is the work around I found. But doing this might work, but when a Reseller adds a new account the DNS servers would default to mine and not his. I guess I could log in and change the template for his DNS.
Do you fore see any problems with this?

If you manually add the A records in the resellers account you can use the reseller control center and set their DNS servers to be their servers. You don't have to assign an IP or anything. It's already there and it works. Their nameservers share the same IP as your nameservers. Not anonymous but it works.
I presently have this working on one of my servers.
