My site has been down since Thursday @ around 5pm. :bawling: I've been emailing CWI Hosting (http://cwihosting.com) like crazy with no response. When I called them (Friday night, 6pm est.), they asked for my domain name and when I told them they said "We just put in the correction and it should be up anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours." and it didn't go back up until today. BUT not only is my log in password changed, my page doesn't load. Instead the default index page loads. My dad emailed the CEO and we're waiting for a response. It seems like everyone else I know who's hosted by CWI have no problems...is it just me or what? AARGH!
Thanks. I just had to go off about it :)

My fiancee had a site with them and had nothing but headaches. Then, when she tried to get her money back during their 30 day guarantee she had a REALLY hard time. Then someone recommended ***** to her...guess you do not have to guess how that turned out. But the person who recommended ***** to her had NO problems, and stills claims they are the best company. It all depends on what server you land on.

That's unfortunate that Web Hosts have that problem, but it does happen and it gives reliable web hosts a bad rap sometimes. I take it you will be looking for a new web host, be sure to read their "Policies" before you signup, another thing to check into is, if a web host offers 99.9% uptime, is that weekly, monthly, yearly? if it is yearly that only allows for about 24 seconds of down time, yes seconds, per month. Make sure that if they have a 30 day money back guarantee it does include refunds for downtime.
I would like to thank you though for sharing such information with us, it is helpful to the members here.

Chris (BlueZebra) makes an important point, here.
The time to do research about hosts is *before* you contract -- not after the fact, by virtue of experiencing their shortcomings... lol.
Research is very important.

I never found anything bad about CWI before I signed up with them (and people I know who are hosted by them have no problems).
The CEO emailed us back and tried to say it was not their fault and it was all on my ISP. He didn't apologize at all or try to compensate for my down time.
Needless to say I'll be moving in the next month.

My hosting company has had our site down for 30 days, and we have been lucky if our site has come up three times during that time.
I just moved everything and now have to fight to tranfer our domain.

I know you mentioned this in another thread, and it will surely get mixed in, but if you have problems with the DNS changes, start a new thread and we'll do what we can to help/advise.
As Deb said though, you shouldn't have any problems.

A side note on rapid successive name server changes, as this may be involved here. I've noted from prior experience that it's best to leave at least 48 hours (at least on NetSol) between successive submissions. Otherwise, they seem either to not take effect at all, or to be substantively delayed in doing so.
their servers were always down... the company is a joke
i honestly think it might be run by a 12 year old
take you business elsewhere...

en has brought a few threads back from the grave and I'm just closing some so that conversation can happen in one or two places and not all over the place (so it will be easier to follow).
