STOP PLEASE HOLD ID TO SCREEN FOR MODS TO CHECK BEFORE READING!!!!!!

Ok i kind of shut up the last time.. You guys have to be kiding here..

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/announcement.php?forumid=10

Ok first it was No html link in sigs.. Fine.. 4 Lines MAX.. Fine.. But now only one URL in a sig..

Come on man this is getting real old and gay real fast.. Don't go and make up new rules every few months to do with sigs..

What would it matter if you had 20 URLs if they all fit in 4 lines????
Thats your sig right your rule was 4 lines no LINK HTML thing. Fine.

But come on with these damn rules guys... Before long you will have to put you ID up to the screen to get in to WHT... Get real guys.. I use to like WHT but your killing it fast man..

Just anther TIP to the MODS... You all bitched NO AD's NO AD's on WHT. Then came the AD's... If WHT was not meant for CO.'s then remove the AD's. Same with the sigs it just a little free ad for us supporting WHT what is wrong with that??? NOT A DAMN THING!!!

tad angry?

They explained why ads are up. This has been talked and talked about. Search for the reason

I think they do not want long sigs, because they do not want people posting just to advertise their service.

I am lost did it also take them 4 months to remeber that rule as well and then add it.

Heck with a sig around here any more. I had one they changed it. Said ok made a new one.. now what changed it agian. 3 times in less then 1 year have they changed the rules on sigs now.

I see that getting a little old.. I like mine the way it is now.

4 Lines NO link, No HTML, No little images nothing.. Fine with me. I know in a month i will have to change it as well but hell getting use to it now..LOL

Hmm...no more then one URL. I know a few people this will effect on this board. Me too as I was going to have a link to the WebHostChat Uk Board. That sucks :(

You could just put up a page with nothing but your favorite links somewhere and then put a link to that page in your sig. :D

Vortech,

You have 4 lines if I max the screen.

If I minimize it, you have 7 lines.

Hope the mods don't minimize their screen when they check. :D

::sticks with 2 lines and no url::

Make an interesting enough signature and then put all the urls in the profile. :)

Well I'm glad people are speaking out against this. You don't want to end up like one of those people who post messages like "Oh we have to respect Matt's rules" trying to suck up to the board's owners and mods. If you don't like something, speak your mind!

Why the hell don`t they just allow for at least two URL`s?

What is the big deal. That is a petty/silly rule. :stickout

well, i don't see any strong point why they don't want more then one link. if i have 4 lines i can use it to put 4-5 urls if all fit in 4 lines.

anyway 2 links must be allowed.

but there must be point in this if they did it. i guess, they just need to explain this, if they want to . . .

<rant>Where I come from, gay means happy, which is good. Or sometimes it's used to describe a sexual preference. If you post in public statements presuming that being gay is a bad thing, you're going to piss off over 10% of the world directly, and the other 80% who are civilized.

I'm getting slightly sick of hearing people use this term in the derogatory.</rant>

Hmmm..

Where I come from gay now means sad, tis is weird how times change. :)

The one URL maximum rule only affected two dozen or so members. And yes it was part of the original long-winded rules.

It's striking a balance as some signatures are now becoming silly. Signature are intending as a way of identifying yourself, and possibly contact e-mail and an associated website.

When we have signatures like the above, its no longer a simple means of identifying the poster but more like an ad. Post a few more pointless messages and your tacky four line ad shoot ups in a few more places.

I will possibly change it to one commercial URL maximum. And I will also considering hyperlink the one URL per sig.

Where I come from gay means happy - full of fun or homosexual :)

by the way allowing one hyperlink per URL is a good idea. ;) and i agree this kind of signatures are not good.

Actually, it probably still means gay as in homosexual. When I was a kid, I remember using it myself. "Those shoes look gay." Meaning that they were ugly enough to only be wore by gay people. As if that was supposed to be bad. I've since grown up.

A lot of people still use it in this way, and in a lot of people's minds it may mean "bad", or "sad" when they use it, because they've used it in that fasion for way too long. But let's not pretend that we don't know how it all started. I hope that everyone will stop using it in that derogatory manner, unless they really want to continue to promote hate, which I hope is unacceptable here on WHT.

Well I would prefer people sigs actually have a link that text. I am about sick of having to copy and paste people's urls to see their sites. The current rule is perfect fine for those who dont actually visit anyone's sites other than their own...

I think there should be 3 links allowed if done like mine...ok, I just looked and I know I got 4 there, but will remove one.. Granted some people use them as ads, but I dont post here much...I mostly just read :)

I remember what started all those sig rules. Thankyou Burst, and your half page sigs

That is hudge, maybe it should be a word limit rather than a line limit. I've seen some sigs that have like over 100 words in them
