To keep a "clan" gaming site up to date, one of my clients would like me to be there web-master and update events, roster and everyday news. How much would you charge for something like that?
Thanks :)

Your original post says everyday. So i'll go by that.
If they want you to update news, rosters and events everyday, I would suggest maybe $10 a week? I mean.. you could even do it for free if it was just for the news or something.
Although, if you are constantly fixing PHP or maybe working on their design, I would turn my entire statement around. That's like complete management of a site, which personally I would charge alot more for.

Okay or you can just do it yourself its pretty simple.......I might pay him between 10-15 bucks a week since its all simple stuff.
I would pay about $12 a week maybe more depending on how bad I don't like doing it ;)

You do have to consider the value of your time. If its a passion or interest of yours, obviously you would be more likely to take less money. However, you need to realistically figure out how much time you will spend on it and multiple that by a discounted hourly rate.

Instead of a weekly rate, charge him $2 for each news post (then you could possibly post up 10 articles and get $20 / week) and $10 for any PHP/MySQL/Layout project.
First, you give him a list of what needs to be done to the site ie. gaming news, updated table structure for the mysql and administration system to add/edit/delete members, then you let him decide which projects you should do and he'll pay you for each one successfully accomplished.
As for the $$ per news post, it depends on the game he is playing. If he's playing the upcoming EQ2--you'll earn loads of money for doing updates on EQ2 News!
