I am the webmaster of hanger12design.com . I can't do to good of sites for hosting companies because they have the complex stuff like password protected pages and all the control panels. My questuion is are there people who will work with another designer who do the the control panels and stuff and the other person does the gfx and layout stuff. And another question- What other types of sites would you suggest i do designs for? Thanx for your help.

I would at least touch on the basics of some of that complex coding. You have to design with the idea that your design will need to fit into the aspects of the coding needing to be implemented in the end result. That is mostly for corporate sites or hosting sites though that I think you're worried about designing for, but am not sure.
You will definitely need to build up a portfolio with a broad range of skills, designs, the whole nine. Every designer should be versatile. Most people who can do graphic design and basic layout, can most likely do some basic coding along with their work....as far as the Web goes anyway. I suggest searching for lots of tutorials or informative sites about this topic.
If you want to skip the whole idea of learning some basics, then you will need to join a team of designers....but unless you have experience, I doubt the pay will be that great if you try to get on a reputable design team. Depending on the kind of designer you are, you're in it either for the love of it..or for the money. Which sometimes also sets the precidence of the quality of work which is developed. Graphic design is a saturated market alone...if you don't get other skills to go with that...then you're typically at the bottom of the food chain unless you catch a break with a decent company.
As for site design, there are (at least I believe) an infinite number of the kind of sites you could design for. It is all up to you..to whom you would like to cater to.
There are content driven sites, visually driven sites, conceptual sites, experimental sites...and then to break it down even more...there are different genres of kinds of sites to design for as well. Food industry such as Restaurants and mom and pop establishments, Tech such as hosting, computer stores, media stores etc.. etc...I'm sure you' get the picture now.
As for the CMS...content management is just a system that allows the admin/user to easily navigate/update a site which you can easily have a members area, forums, etc....usually with no knowledge of coding involved....but most of the sites look generic due to the default skins etc... (Mambo, drupal, etc..)
