I'm after the 2nd disk carsh in 40 days !
and 60 hours down time after each crash.
It took my dedicate server hosting compamy 48 hours to
give me new machime and it took me another 12 hours to upload
all the backups and install all the software.
I need 2nd hard drive desperately for local backup so that I will
have alternate boot disk !!!
Can you recommand on hosting commpany which provide 2 hard drive on the raq4 configuration ??

i believe almost any RAQ host would put in a spare harddrive if you were to send them one or pay for them to supply you with one. of course, sending one would be your best bet.

shortfork,
Do you copy the 1st drive to the 2nd including all the system ?
I it possibole to ask Rackshack to set the machine to boot from the 2nd drive in case the 1st is bad.

Hummn... I prolly did mine a pretty stoopid way.. I split the load between the two, going with the (maybe false) assumption that this would help disk access somewhat.. I have one site that gets a lot more traffic than the rest, this is on one disk, the rest of the virts are on the other drive..
To answer your question, I don't know if RS could do that for you.. (likely as not though) you could also tar up all your stuff, depending on how much space you have on either or both drives and then keep a backup of your complete server on either/both...
If one drive goes down, as soon as they slap in a new one, untar the backup from the good to the new and that *should* get you back in the water faster??
I'm no guru.. not even approaching "wannabeguru" just a very sleep webster that *hopes* to not make too many big mistakes..

Yes you can have tw0 disk's in a raq 4,
You can also get the raq 4 r, which has raid-1 capabilities. Raid-1 is either disk mirroring or parity. Mirroring is and exact copy of the other disk and parity is used to reconstruct the data in case of loss. Raq 4 r, enables this feature by default and it can not be turned off. The raq 4 systems handle raid through software, therefore no extra raid equipment is needed but a hard drive, bothe harddrives use their own master channel as well. Serverrack.net has these systems as well as the before mentioned rackshack. Good luck.
