Splash Host's competition and response has got me thinking (and off my butt to design a hosting site ------ Alan I have an unique design in the works, but unfortunately the deadline has passed for the competition. I'll submit an example later anyway but be warned: it's totally unlike any design you've seen here linked or submitted)...........

I see a lot of examples here that look similiar, and would like to know: Is that's by design or request?

Furthermore.........

What colors are folks looking for? Do you want 20kb sites; or sites that draw potential customers in because the design is so appealing? Do you want a flat 2-D or 3-D interactive layout? Do you want templates (but fast to get/make); or totally new designs (that aren't fast to get/make) that separates you from the rest?

Currently I'm working on some original page graphics that have a techie feel to them (realistic PDA and customized server [where company logos can be outfitted to each - and in time, working images for true interactiveness]), but it seems that stuff is out of the league here.

Feedback anyone?

Chris

well, the navigation of the web site should be simple, have a look at addr.com web site and mc host web site both are totally different but both web sites look great to me. mc host have simple and clean layout while addr have heavy and very complicated but very good design and layout.

i guess logos, ikons made with 3d studio max looks very cool and you can archeieve very complicated designs from it.
